Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It is the reason I strive as much as I do in business and how I have based a number of aspects of my life. It is a long read but by far the best book I have ever read outside the Bible.

Thoreau's Walden.

Couple that with "The Dharma Bums" by Kerouac, and " The Favorite Game" by Leonard Cohen - and you get lil ol' me.

i'm completely serious when i say this but "Class : A Guide Through the American Status System" by paul fussell was amazing. i wouldn't consider it a life changer but it's definitely an eye-opener. it's a book on sociology by a man who has absolutely no background in it. i highly recommend it if you want a good, short and funny read.

Warrior Politics by Robert Kaplan.

I will never look at the problems of the world quite the same after reading this book.

of course, the Bible. Largest selling book. But outside that, probably novels of the Russian writer Fyodyr Dostoyevsky.
