I came across something the other day...a quote by Marianne Williamson. For those of you who do not know who this individual is I suggest you research her immediately lol ..trust me you will be so glad you did.

The quote intruiged me so much that I picked up one of many novels that she has written, entitled "Return To Love" It speaks about why individuals are afraid to suceed and move forward in their lives. Why some of us are afraid to love. the quote reads:

'Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.' .....

We are all meant to shine, as children do.... It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we subconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

How true that is.
From reading this book I have come to a realization. That I have many fears. Fear of failure, fear of being alone and fear of loving someone too much...are just to name a few. We all have them yes. I believe it is fear that drives an individual forward through the struggle. Amazing, much like love...fear has the power to keep you goin and to hold you down.

So what about you? What is your deepest fear? If you could only choose one..what would it be?

I'm familiar with Marianne Williamson. She's friends with Neale Donald Walsh, which his early books are something very worth reading, to say the least.

Not sure of my deepest fear. It isn't death, or ghosts which a lot of people fear. I think it is being on a long trip with someone you have a crush on, along with many other people, and have a severe case of uncontrolable runs. Sneezing while the dentist is working in your mouth, and having a spontaneous erection during a physical. Perhaps letting out a big fart during an intimate moment with a hot girl. These haven't happened yet tho. Can't say which is the most scary tho, sorry. Ok, probably the runs.

I learned from Wayne Dyer that most of what we fear and worry about rarely, if ever happen. If they do, not often. Oh, also losing love ones is scary, including animals.

My biggest fear? I'm truly frightened that I will die before my daughters are grown (it almost happened about 3 weeks ago) it was the scarriest thing that has ever happened to me. It gave me a mortality check...which came as a huge surprise. Their father has already passed away..and I'm here alone...if i go....what happens?

Who will tell them about their mother?..their father?
Who will take care of them?
Who will love them the way I do?
Who will keep them safe?

.......a lot of things scare me...but that scares me the most.......

Losing another child to death. It terrifies me and brings me to my knees. It makes me want to keep her by my side always. When 4:16 pm comes every Friday i frantically strive to maintain my sanity(the little i have left).I have to know she is ok.I don't start breathing again until i hear hi mommy.

My family, friends and co-workers thankfully understand this and accept my lunacy.

4:16 pm on a Friday was the time my son died.

yeh, losing my families toy poodle was just as difficult as losing one of my best friends to suicide. The dog was like my baby, and I spent more time with it then my good friend. That may be why. Don't really know.

Thank you to all that have written and shared here, in this thread.
It's not one of the most positive things to express or talk about
[TRUST ME FROSTY I HEAR YA LOUD AND CLEAR ON WHAT YOU SAID]
But perhaps by us sharing our fears we can somehow conquer them as well.

Death is a major one for a lot of people. For sure!
I think mine in respect to that subject is this:
Im afraid of dying before my time. Now I know that one never knows just when that is but what I mean is....Im afriad of dying without leaving something behind that can live on....that I can somewhere look back and be proud on. To leave some sort of legacy for my children...my friends...the community. To be remembered as someone who was thoughtful, loving and caring of others.

Fear ... hmmm .... who ever thought that a tiny four letter world like that could hold so much expression.

Super Thread.

Mrs. Lucci - you will be in my thoughts this Friday at 4:16

My greatest fear ...gesh...you might as well see me nude...this is a personal question.
I guess my greatest fear is that now that I have found a great love again I am afraid he will be taken away from me again. My first love was killed and I never ever want to go through that again (we weren't even together at the time). Just the thought of losing someone so special to me makes me soooo sad.

Anywho, I prefer to think of all the wonderful times ahead and not be overtaken my unneccessary fears. I am lucky to have found love again and treasure it for however long I have it. I wish you all the same.

Great Post

I have a fear of being feared, which I didn’t know I had until recently.

I learned someone I care about deeply is afraid of me and I have no clue why. The last thing I want is for anyone to be afraid of me.

Oh, Ms. Lucci. I am so sorry. I have goosebumps all over my body. I hope each day's struggle gets easier to bear. Well, I know it never gets easier, we just get better at handling it.

God bless.

My biggest fear is SNAKES. I can't stand even the thought of them Its a major phobia I have.
Also another fear is getting my heart broken again.
And dying before I get to enjoy the joy of having children and dying before them.

Have no fears. Well, except****roaches (waterbugs) ... they pretty much yuck me out. But there isn't anything else, including death, especially death, that scares me.

Mrs. Lucci... I cannot comprehend the thought of loosing my child. I have lost a husband. My son is on his way to Kosovo, but I totally trust that he will come home. I am truely saddened for your loss. I still cry at times over lost loved ones and you are right - certain days or events bring back the heartache.
Think of that pain as a type of communication between you and your child. When you hurt the most, God guides that child into your home and that child is close, watching you and is trying to ease your pain. Try to think of a little hand patting you on the arm or resting a little head on your chest. Know that that child still lives - just on another relm. Relish in the fact that you will be together again someday.
Bless you sweetie.
Ash
