I mean it is good to take care of yourself but appearance seems more important these days then who you are on the inside. Why is that? I am your typical tomboy i own like four pairs of shoes, my jeans are tattered and torn, i wear tshirts and sweatshirts that show no part of my figure off, in fact the best i look is in the pics here online...
but the other thing is i dont want to get all dolled up for a guy and then have him realize the next day that im a bum who loves sweats.
be you and you will find a man who loves that you....
I know its hard, and you see all these skinny, short skirt wearing, fake (or real) blonde hair b*tches out there getting all the a** in the world, but thats all they are getting trust me i was a bartender i saw that sh*t everyday....

Posted: 11/19/2004 8:55:11 PM | Hmm, I don't know if a person has to be drop dead gorgeous but it does appear that a lot of people have unrealistic hopes or expectations.
Also, everyone likes beautiful/ attractive things, that's why we find them attractive/ beautiful. That's just nature.
When it comes to people though, I think society is so focused on the gym culture/ perfect body thing these days. Its seems harder and harder for the average masses to get any attention.

Posted: 11/20/2004 10:10:13 AM | All of you are right your appearance is what gets the other persons attention and who you are keeps them in but maybe it is just me but it seems that no matter how good of a person you are it doesn't matter to so many people. You can be the sweetest person in the world but if there is something wrong with you physically; you will be dropped like a hot potato.
I am not just saying this for attraction in a relationship; I see so many people saying so many rude things about others they do not even know just because of what they might have on, or their hair, or just something like that. Comments that they will never come in contact with that person just because of some little stupid thing that doesn’t even matter.
There are a lot of people out there that do not do that and that’s awesome but then there are a lot that do and my question is juts why? Why be so shallow? How can you even have good friends or relationship if all they care about are your looks? Is it really worth it? | |

People's expectations parallel their surroundings and what they see most of the time. We have media bombarding us with Photoshopped beauties 24/7. Visit a different culture and you'll discover looks are taken more with a grain of salt. | |
