| | Why do Men make it such a big deal ...."I AM A GREAT COOK!"Page 1 of 10 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) | I so often find, that men think that being able to cook puts them way above the crowd , on a pedestal!!! Guys.. that is great ! It's a very good quality, but 90 percent of the men in here claim they are incredible cooks! My 13 year old son is a very good good cook as well, as he has been very intrigued and self sufficient as I am a single mum .,Trust me , the majority of guys proclaim that they are! and it does not make you stand out or unique.
My issue is ,, why do men become so anal about this! So..... you can cook! ... I can change my own engine oil and do carpentry work but you won't find that in my profile.
I have found that men in the kitchen , should be there by themselves! i will bring you drinks, light candles , and put on the music, just dont send me out to the store because i have a generic brand of tomato sauce and you only can make your dish with Ragu! get over it!
Many of us women, love to cook as well, but i have yet to meet a woman in here, that states, "I am a great cook!" hmmmmm i wonder why ..... | |

Since I'm a survivalist chef (not to mention special circumstances that have me creating 3 different meals simultaneously...), I appreciate seeing a reference to somebody that says they are a good cook, or more importantly, like to cook! I'd rather do the cleanup.

The only teeth that i really care about are the ones in my smile , and as long as they arent in a glass at night, its all good
As for the engine oil, when you where that dress, you just pretend to start and its taken care of! That is called, changing oil simply ! seriously i can tho , usually track side when i am racing ... so there!
Tell you what, you come over and change the engine oil, you do the carpentry and i will stay in the kitchen !

Posted: 8/25/2005 10:40:16 PM | Sorry! Can't do that! I won't let anyone cook for me. I spent way to many years around the world training in kitchens. I learned from the best and I know how to cook and I don't eat burnt toast.
FYI a 32 tooth fine plywood blade is what you need....thought I could test you by saying it's a 26. | |

1 warming up baked beans
2 making pasta in a packet
3 making toasted sandwiches
4 warming up water to put in a cup a soup
5 cereal with milk
6 fried egg that becomes scrambled eggs
hands up those who now admit they cant cook.

Here is my theory - Since it seems that a lot of women complain that a lot of guys NEVER help out with ANYTHING, cooking, cleaning, laundry etc... I do tend to tell ladies that I can... why? Well, from my point of view the relationship should be a partnership... that means that you are NOT going to have to do all of the "chores" by yourself. Moreover, since I enjoy cooking that means that you will come home to find dinner ready for you, or will have a meal fixed for you on some days... fixed because c) I can, b) I enjoy cooking and a) Cause in theory, I love You (metaphorically speaking... ) and wish to show it...
In addition this means that I will pick up messes without your need to nag, do laundry from time to time (without turning the whites pink) and even clean up the kitchen...
So lets see... since it seems that MOST gals complain that men can't pick up their dirty laundry, will climb OVER messes and NEVER help out in the kitchen or around the house... it might be a BIG deal that a guy says that he can do such... willingly, happily and cause HE WANTS TO PLEASE you..

Dinner will be a BBQ but not anything ordinary. I put a cedar board on the BBQ that's been soaked the night before and then a white fish goes on it, the cedar flavour is wonderful! After dinner I serve chocolate dipped strawberries....yummy! | |

A guy should know how to cook at least the basics. Most guys can put a decent meal on the table. It's no longer something that earns a guy bragging rights or brownie points. | |

Why do women say they "clean up nice"? Why do women talk about candles and bubble baths? Why do women always want to walk hand-in-hand on a sunset-lit beach? Why why why?
Truth is men include the cooking thing because it's part of who we are----don't most women want to know things like that about us? If we talk about our work then we're not being forthcoming about our inner most thoughts. If we say we like to cook then MAYBE that's a "hint" we'd like to try "romancing" you with a meal where you can just relax and be "tended to" in a show of how great we think you are!
Sometimes I wonder why women who post attractive photos are single---until I read things like this! I'm calling Martha Stewart and blowing the whistle on CallendarGirl---she's just NOT feminine NOR domestic!! LOL
