| Why do guys give cell phone numbers instead of home numbers ...is that a clue they are taken?
Posted: 8/29/2005 6:18:53 AM | Well it use to be that if he didnt give you his home number after a few dates then yeah he was prob married but, hell these days even 10 or 12 year olds have cells.
I think these days its much easier to get away with the "sorry don't have a home phone" I have both and plan to keep both lol BUT some people like most here only use their cell phones.. So give if you feel so worried ask him... | |

Then again I have seen girls in the stores with them. Holds up the lines. lol So who really knows. I don't understand married people where he has his phone and she has her phone, and noone checks to see the numbers stored on them. I think thats why so many people cheat, because their lifes go differnt ways, and they spend more time apart than toghter. Makes it easy for them to let a girl think that they are single. If I was single, A man would give me both a cell phone number and a reg number, are he wouldn't be worth my time. If he really wanted to hear from me. I would get to pick the time. But take note, some mens wifes work different shifts, so just because he is home alone at night, don't mean he isn't hooked. Is there a way to know if they are hooked. NO. Thats another thing why do people that are hooked, work different shifts. Is that more inportant than their mate. I don't understand everything a person does, but I sure see a lot of people go threw it. Good luck on that question, because there isn't a good answer for it, because they are all different people. | |

Posted: 8/29/2005 6:26:58 AM | Reason for my work number ? They go straight to VM...that way I can screen them...I never ever answer an outside phone call at work. If they call and leave a message I can activate that number and let it thru- but if they becomes stalker material- well- I can just deactivate it. Nice huh ?
My ex gf used to cal and call and call and call and call after we broke up...So- after the 10th time- I just never let her number thru again...LOL yeah- she knew where I worked ...she knew my email addresses...So- she was added to my spam lists...LOL
Weeee...good times...BTW- I have access to the phone system here :)
Safer than my home number anyway...Security and all too...:)

they rather have one call teh cell after hours when it is free???
It is decided I will start giving my # to those that are interested and that is all..
I won't be calling him on his cell either..After watching that Eliminate date show last night-It changed my whole outlook on things too-I will wait but not for long. | |

I honestly use my cell phone for everything... business, family, dating. It's the best way to get a hold of me. I think I really only have a home phone so I can do dial up for my work laptop, if I need to fax and for my home puter.
Now if he restricts what time you can call/contact him..... doesn't want u to text him.....

Although if you are thinking someone is taken there are many other clues like; they ask you to call them only at certain hours of the day, or you consistently get their voice mail at certain hours like at night. If you are suspicious then try calling during the late evening and see if they talk in hushed tones. The other option is wishing married people would not be on dating sites! | |

I give my cel number because it's usually where i am , and if i really like the person , would want them to be able to reach me whenever they wish to reach me. I can see how someone only giving a cel number could enable deception though. it's not like a spouse or lover answers their significant others cel. | |

The reason is that my house line is intended for family, close friends and personal business where as my cell can be used for everything else. If i meet someone who starts to call me all the time on my cell phone, i can simply have the number changed and let people know ... much more frustrating to change the phone number that serves as your primary contact point for all your personal dealings (banking, gym memberships etc). | |

Even Canada411 has a reverse number feature which allows you to type in the number, and up pops their name and address. If, after meeting, and several other methods of contact are made, if they are unwilling to give you their home number, or tell you NOT to call their home number, I'd say they have something to hide. | |

ya wanna know why, there ain't any home phones, my line goes right to my computer, i have dsl and i'm on line 24/7
there are no phone calls to interupt me, no wrong numbers, no telemarketers, just peace and quiet, cell number i will give out only if i want to talk to the person.. | |
