Posted: 8/30/2005 2:05:38 PM | I think that sometimes, we just need to have our own time. We need to take vacations from each other. I don't want my man around 24/7...gosh go find something to do with yourself! Let me do something alone sometimes!
I don't mind video games...but if something needs to be done, we all have to act responsibly around that. I wouldn't be impressed or even "allow" my s.o. to sit there for hours on end and not do at least something productive. That's just escapist mentality and not at all responsible.
I think I'd probably ask him if he's feeling stressedout, or what is causing him to want to play for such long periods of time. I won't play the time consuming types of games. I want something I can save and play later and that doesn't require me to be glued to the screen. That's just silly and meant for single people with nowhere to go and nothing to do.
If he wants to go lock himself up in the study to play games, fine, but if he won't be available for 6 hrs straight, then guess, what? Tomorrow is MY turn...and I'm taking all 6 hours just like he did!
Fair is fair.

Video games are:
1)A tie to many men's youth. Many men are terrified that a serious relationship will be like a prison term. Video games give them that link with their childhood.
2)An escape from reality. Having this serious relationship and perhaps young child is a HUGE responcibility. Many men use a video game as an escape, albeit temporary, from the day-to-day demands. | |

I agree with women have no hobbies of there own..
now should a guy be in a game 24/7.. NO.. maybe an hour or two... but i tell you these games can be like crack somethings there very addicting.. however women do the same things with movies, books, and girly tv shows..ahh.. how about that? OH, HOW MANY? life time shows have i wacthed with a ex girlfriend..LOL

And, he gave me an attitude when I asked him to stop and come eat dinner (nevermind when I asked him to set the dinner table.)
So, after a while, I got fed up. So, I tested him. You know how men can always ignore a woman when sports are on? Well, my ex was that way with his video games. I walked up to him buck-naked and began to kiss him on his neck. He got pissed at me because I made him lose one of his guys' lives.
And people wonder why I kicked his azz out. heh! (Not that this was our only problem...but it was one of them.)

Posted: 8/30/2005 5:22:47 PM | Luckily I've never had a guy treat me like that! OMG! What people aren't getting is that this video game is becoming two people. That is a toy, a game, not a person.. Its not healthy to spend some much time on a machine..really! It takes a way from the relationship. I'm not talking about guys that play for an hour or two..im talking about the ones that work all day, rush home to play the game, blast past their girl and hit the game and sleeps maybe an hour before heading back to work..thats the kind of guy I'm talking about..
I have my own hobbies thank you. I run my own theatre company and I dance all the time... (Ballroom, shut up) Thats not the problem. A hobby is a few hours here and there..an addiction is something else entirely. So most men can't handle reality and try to escape to childhood. Why is it that people only remember the great things about childhood..like summertime in the park etc. There were bad things too..like not driving and not being able to do whatever whenever... Everything in life is about balance..and without that balance..life is crazy..too crazy to handle.
Remember people..we are talking about ADDICTION...and Blizie whatever your name is..you are an azz... when you get a brain, think of an opinion, when you have it, type it out..and then you can join society...until then..BACK TO YOUR ROOM YOUNG MAN! or should I have said girl? | |
