| Whats the point? Posted: 9/1/2005 11:06:16 AM | Shallow people feel the need to lie to make them feel better about themselves,
Players lie to get sex, and they don't care who finds out afterwards.
Cheaters lie because by definition they are liars.
Some young people lie to make themselves appear more mature and experienced then what they are.
A lot of people lie for a lot of different reasons, scared of the truth, self preservation and yes sometimes to avoid hurting someone.
Just have to learn to look into peoples eyes when they are talking to you, very seldom can someone lie with their eyes.

| Whats the point? Posted: 9/1/2005 6:59:32 PM | | i think that when people lie it's more so to convince themselves of that lie. they warp their perception and conform to their lies so that it all makes sense...at least to them. that way they don't see themselves as liars or feel guilt. my ex actually justified each one of his lies with a "rational" and "logical" explanation. i think that ignorance, self denial, and disillusion is truly a disease that infects one's mind and actions. someone find a cure! | |

| Whats the point? Posted: 9/1/2005 11:15:24 PM | The reasons are various insecurity translated as ,loss of face, fear of losing something, or lying to deceptively gain something... it is interesting to note that many liars tell lie's habitually...hence the term "congenital liar"
not only do they make buffoon's of themselves ...but they sow mistrust among everybody...
Its hard to tell...there's no rule of thumb...... but if their stories smell fishier than Lady Godiva's saddle..... I wont sign the dotted line just yet.

| Whats the point? Posted: 9/2/2005 7:57:47 AM | I don't know.. because I don't lie.
I have no respect for liars... I think liars are in the same boat as cheaters... once a liar always a liar! If they lie how can we ever trust what they are saying?
Some people lie because they don't want to hurt someone yet it hurts the person worse in the end.
Some people aren't honest with themselves
Some people lie so much they believe their lies!
Someone who needs to make themself feel bigger and better then they really are..
