They stop us in our tracks and even when they have made us stand still, they still leave us wondering exactly where we stand. You have had a few surprises along these lines of late. Now, you are nervous. Something unexpected appears to be happening. What if this turns out to be yet another debilitating development? Don't be so worried. You are due a boost. It is high time you had a little extra heavenly help. Here it comes. Once you get used to it, you will come to love the fresh possibility that arises out of this week's upheaval. Taurus: Is chess a cruel sport? It certainly torments the loser. There's no guarantee of a quick finish or a merciful dispatch. Gradually, the victor removes the opponent's options until they are still on the board but they have nowhere to go. How frustrating. Unless, that is, the player actually wants to lose. Perhaps they are tired of the entire process. Perhaps they would rather be doing something less logical and more intuitive - or perhaps they would rather be playing a different game entirely. You are being backed into a corner now but the corner in question suits you, more than you realize. Don't just bow to the inevitable, embrace and celebrate it! Just for a moment there, though, you were willing to believe that it might have done. You are dubious about what information you can rely on at the moment. No amount of discussion is likely to clarify the matter. Indeed, the more you talk, the more pronounced those different viewpoints are likely to become. Keep quiet and just trust what you know to be right and true. Cancer: When you undertake the same task every day, you eventually get very good at it. No matter how complex or difficult it may seem at first, it grows much easier with practice. Whilst, though, it's good to rehearse and refine a clever trick, it's not so smart to keep repeating the same silly mistake. You really don't want a bad habit to become a way of life. This week brings your chance to do what you do best. That is not necessarily the same as what you do most often. If you are confident that your tried and tested technique is the appropriate one to be using now, go ahead and employ it. Check first, though, for a way to profit through doing things differently. Leo: Why use a battering ram when you can pick the lock? Why pick the lock when, if you only knock nicely, the door will be opened? Mars now forms a harmonious alignment to the Sun. That is going to bestow you with a great deal of determination. You may not, though, need as much of this as you think. A task seems daunting, a situation appears to be difficult, a problem looks hard to solve. This, plus your past experience of struggle in a similar area, you are making a pessimistic prejudgment. Should your path really prove difficult to travel, you will be able to find all the strength and stamina you need. Start, though, in the expectation that it will be easy. Virgo: You are not another year older, you are another year younger. To be born under the sign of Virgo is to be blessed with the secret of eternal youth. Scorpio: Venus is moving into Scorpio. That's a most auspicious development. It implies plenty of planetary protection, heaps of heavenly help. Sadly, though, this is not the only astrological influence on you at the moment. Mars is about to complete an antagonistic alignment to Pluto. This is already creating much tension and apprehension. You are so deeply concerned about a pressing matter that you can hardly think about anything else. Forget it! Enjoy what's good. The rest really will take care of itself. Sagittarius: Too much coffee creates a very restless frame of mind. No matter how peaceful your world may be, it will cause something within it to seem edgy. Things seem wrong, even when they are quite all right. You will have a sense of urgency even when there is nothing to hurry for. And that very fear is making a simple situation more complicated and stressful than it really needs to be. Aquarius: An arrangement is only just working. So far, it is holding up - but you suspect that at any moment it could fall down. Venus, though, now aligns helpfully with your ruler. Your source of support is less fragile than you think. Pisces: The deeper the mystery, the more satisfying the solution. The more baffling the problem, the happier we feel when we see a way to get round it. Keep reminding yourself of this. You have not been put in a situation you cannot cope with. Rather, you have arrived at a point that requires every last ounce of your stamina and concentration. You are not going to find your task easy but you are going to find it possible.
