Posted: 9/14/2005 8:30:27 PM | | Lately I have had some real deep discussions and people keep saying when you meet "THE ONE" you will know. Well of course that brings up all the questions! Does everyone have one great love? Will you know when you meet that person? Have you already met that person and screwed it up? I know no one out there can seriously answer these questions, but I really want to know what people think, male and female. Thanks. | |

Let me see...
No I do not believe everyone has one great love... I think everyone has a whole bunch of potential great loves who all would generate that same overwhelming feeling....
Yes you will know when you meet one of these people... You can tell when it isn't even a consideration if you want to date them again and you can't quite stop thinking about them in between meetings... (The REAL trick is finding someone else who feels exactly the same way.)

I don't know for sure, though, whether there is just one for everyone. I'd rather believe we get chances as we go. I mean, we grow throughout our lives, yes? I'm a completely different person than the guy I was with my first girlfriend, and though she was good for me then, we grew apart. Now, having (hopefully) learned some things, I trust I'll meet someone who'll be good for who I am now and have the opportunity to grow together. Keepin' my fingers crossed, as it were. | |

...Yes..I do believe in.."The One"...and I'm sad To say..as much as I love Her and always Will..We will never Be,,,,"The One" comes along rarely..some of Us are lucky ...some are Not..for a long time I though the "One" was a Myth..Until I met Her....
Every time I talk to Her every time We chat....A part of Me is Sad that We will never Be,,,
But we carry On..being Friends...and I'm blessed that She still wants to Be in My Life...
To those of You that are lucky enough to find the "One".....cherish them and Love Them..and Be happy....the "One"...does not come along everyday................

I have to wonder, if there are many loves out there for us (as many people seem to believe), why are we so determined to find THE one? Why not settle for what we have, especially if it's not a horrible arrangement?
I think that you do know when you've met your one and only. But, I also think that many of us choose to ingore it for whatever reason.

I have definitly been attracted to someone the first time I saw them but for me to really fall for a guy I would have to get to know them a lot better then just knowing them by their looks. I like to believe that there is someone out there who is "The One" for me, or atleast I hope there is. I can't guarantee that i'll fall in love with them immediately but who knows. | |

That’s the catch with love pain is inevitable, nothing is permanent that’s what life is about. I personally don’t think any one person can ever answer that question unless they have had broken heart. For some the pain of a broken heart is to much to handle that they never love again, for others it slides off their back and they bounce right back into the game. | |

Waking from a dream, I wouldn't recognize myself in the dream because I haven't yet grown my self through the days to that point where the dream becomes a present reality of deja vue. If a person spends many days [years] in a relationship it only natural they would enter your dreams. If some of those dreams came before you meet the person, that person and your feelings for him/her would seem as of for a stranger when you wake from the dream. When you finally meet, the emotions of your days not yet lived but dreamed already spark into something more than the usual deja vue's of I've been here before or I've done this before. So I tend to look for that... maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing since those relationships didn't turn out to be 'the one' ??? 
I just can't see continuing something if I don't feel that... Hopeless romantic that I am, I think I will recognize 'it' when it comes along. | |
