| | How much do you like your job....?Page 1 of 3 (1, 2, 3) | Hey everyone.... this is my first post ever on POF... so I guess I am a virgin in this area....
Just wanted to find out how may people really like their jobs.... I've come to the realization that I truly do.
If anyone reads my profile, they will find out that I am a lawyer in Toronto. Even after working approximately 55-65 hours a week, it certainly does have its benefits. Like free dinners, smoozing with other professionals and the like. Even though the money is great, I would still happily do everything that I am doing now at 1/2 of the salary. | |

Posted: 9/23/2005 8:06:18 PM | I love my job too although i **** about guests and the hours most of the time i can't complain... i mean where else can i meet new interesting people and get paid for it.. although some are a little too interesting for my liking..
Yes the pay ain't great and the hours suck if i am working 3-11 or 11-7 ( which is once in a blue moon) but I went into this field for the love of it ..
btw i am in the hospitality industry... right now i am front desk clerk but have been a cook as well | |

Posted: 9/23/2005 8:07:56 PM | Love my career! I couldn't imagine doing anything else! I love the fact that every day is different... It's the best feeling when you've actually made a difference for one of your students. Of course there are days when they frustrate me to all ends of the earth, but hey... that's when a pop quiz comes in handy! ha!
The one downfall, is that I don't spend my days with adults! In other fields, you at least get yourself out there and have the potential of meeting some new people.

Posted: 9/23/2005 8:28:58 PM | Well, i work in a career that i started in 1988. I quit for a while a few years ago to go to college and university, then got back into it almost a year ago. For the year or so before going to college i absolutely came to hate it and swore once out i would never go back.
Its different now, i enjoy it more. I think its the fact that i'm not stuck with it anymore. I could give it up tomorrow and have another career right at my doorstep using my education. However, when i do finally finish a masters degree i will make a career change, completely. | |

I have heard some amazing stories from the seniors who live there. To live to be that age is amazing! I mainly work people who have alzheimers so each day when I see them they think Im a new person or their grandson  The sad part is coming into work to find out one of the popular residents has passed :( | |

I have worked crazy hours (9a-4a), had rediculous deadlines almost all the time.
The money right now is okay, but the potential for a 6 figure income is real, and obtainable!
I get to go to see the leafs, jays, argos, raptors, comedy shows, movies for free.
Parties every friday in the office, plus corporate functions, meeting and shmoozing with celebs etc.
I work in media advertising, on Procto and Gamble canadas account, the workload is insane, but with all the perks and full benefits, I can't see myself getting it any better! | |

I am a legal assistant/law clerk in training. I just hope to be able to get into the area of practice I really enjoy. | |

Having said that, I can make as much money for as hard as I want to work. Suffice it to say, the money is great, I work with great people and get out to meet great people. Not to mention the addrenaline is awesome when I close a big deal! | |

I happen to love my job...and would do something similar for free, in fact have applied to do humanitarian work to do this for free. I could make much more money in another area of my profession but I wouldn't trade for anything. Well ok...maybe if I could have been trainer/physiotherapist for the Leafs, I would consider a career change!!! | |
