Posted: 9/28/2005 3:55:25 AM | About 2 months ago I Was exchaning e-mails with a lady on POF, it lasted about 2 weeks. I had mentioned that I liked to play videogames. She responded with a nasty note saying that men who played videogames were childish & immature.I never heard from hear again. This has happened to me twice. What's up with that?

Posted: 9/28/2005 5:41:12 AM | There are kids, that grow up to be doctors, that operate with out touching a persons insides. This is because they have hand contact on a knob, and move to a screen. So I understand kids playing them games. Some day might save someones life.
Not all people grow into doctors. Some just get do it for fun, and get lost in it. Look at this site. Same thing. So look who is judging you. Don't worry about it.
I my self never play the games, but my kids, can get a game, and beat the game in the same day. Teachs your brain to react fast, and rember things. I find no harm in them, other than the time spent on them. Thats why you ask them if the want to go for walks, are shoot basketball, are something. To keep them healthy. | |

But if its just something you do on a rainy day to relax, and have fun when theres nothing better to do, go for it. I can entertain myself...Some of those woman might have had bad experiences in the past. However if a guy tells me when I ask what he does for fun and the only answers are watching tv, movies and video games...that shouts couch potatoe from a mile off!!! | |

It's the hour after hour, day after day playing of video games that I see getting complaints. And I got to agree, if you find yourself playing games for hours on end, seek help, you have a real problem coping with reality. | |

Did you mention how often you play? Occasionally ... every moment of your spare time ... only when there's absolutely nothing better to do? Maybe she was afraid that might become a nicer distraction for you than she.
Most likely she's had a bad experience with that and just didn't want to get involved with it again. I didn't look at your profile, but maybe you could put that in your profile that any lady you get involved with needs to be tolerant of your desire to play videogames ... might get a lady who likes to play too and will be glad to keep you company. | |

Posted: 9/28/2005 6:46:58 AM | maybe she has just had a really bad experience....I mean there is a difference between playing a video game once in a while for fun and playing it everynight as you main source of entertainment.......I love Mario Karts but I haven't played it all summer because it's been too nice to stay inside.....I will play it more in the winter though......it all depends on how much you like to play them lol......everything is great in moderation isn't it? :) I think that people should be so quick to jump to conclusions about people just because they like to play a game once in a while....... | |

The occasional video game is okay (as long as it's not one of those overly violent, lets beat hookers with a 2 x 4 and kill all cops games) but if a guy plants himself in front of it hour after hour, then that's no good.
There are other more constructive ways to spend your time. And a lot of the adults who DO play a lot of video games ARE very childish (sorry but just my experience). | |

but some women may not because the guys play too long.
my ex used to play for 7 hrs straight then go out to the bar come home sleep/eat/crap
and do it all over again.

personally i think they're boring and it's more fun to do something both enjoy. i'd play video games with a guy but he has to go antiquing or yard sale-ing with me
