A good example of why I watch Bill O'Reilly whenever I want a good laugh.

Sept 19, 2005 - Bill O'Reilly - The O'Reilly Factor

"Under President Clinton the tax rate climbed higher than at any time in history excepting World War two."

- reality: 1954 - 1963 for people earning $300-$400k/year the federal tax was 90%.
1955 - for people earning $44-$52k/year the federal tax was 59%.

Sept 19, 2005 - Bill O'Reilly - The O'Reilly Factor
"Federal Tax Revenues will be more this year than at any time during the Clinton administration."

- fed tax revenues 2005 $2.142 trillion. in 2000 $2.025 trillion. However, these numbers are not adjusted for inflation. If you adjust the 2005 number for inflation, it's not $2.142 trillion, it's $1.8 trillion.

Sept 19, 2005 - Bill O'Reilly - The O'Reilly Factor

"Clinton raised taxes every single year."

- reality. Clinton raised taxes once, in 1993.

Sept 19, 2005 - Bill O'Reilly - Bill O'Reilly

"....there wasn't a Federal Income Tax until the turn of the century."

- reality, a Federal Income Tax was enacted in 1861 during the civil war. It was phased out in 1872.

Ahhh, I can't stand O'Rielly. There was documentary that aired here in Canada a few months back on CBC television. In it, they showed a clip of O'Rielly quoting a magazine in France that didn't even exist. What he gets away with boggles my mind sometimes. He has the nerve to call his show "The No Spin Zone" like, this is where you come for the straight goods. I watch him from time to time when I need a good laugh.

I watch the Jon Stewart show, there's more facts there than
Bill O'Reilly anyday.

O'reilly's show is banned in Canada anyway unless
you specially order it. The CRTC made sure there's no offensive
material on the air.

Me too, I saw that documentary on the CBC re O'Reilly - he was too scared
to come on and explain himself LOL

Yep, banning material is the best sign of a democracy.

Btw, anyone see John Stewart call acts of congress/executive branch just "symbolic"? How dare the president follow through on the will of the people...

was the documentary, "Outfoxed?" I saw that one and it was quite scary. My dad loves O'Reilly, but I hear only quotes on the radio in the morning. And yes most of the time it either laughable or just down right sad.

JS is always good for comic relief.

O'Reilly's show is not banned in Canada. We just don't get Fox News unless we specifically order it. We already have something like 5 news channels.

I know he tries. I also realize that he has become the sole guiding light for Liberals across America. That doesn't say much when one has to rely on a "comedian" to guide the Democratic Party. Anyway, I found the clip I was talking about, the link is below. I guess you can decide for yourself who got the verbal pwnage in this exchange. It's a 9 minute clip but it's worth it to hear how Stewart views that congress should just sign off on threats as "symbolic"...

bulldogmedic: "Stewart views that congress should just sign off on threats as 'symbolic'..."

The above quotation is a great example of how guys like Bill O'Reilly work.

• Jon Stewart: the Senate's Iraq Liberation Act vote in 1998 was just symbolic.
• bulldogmedic: Jon Stewart said that that congress should just sign off on threats as symbolic.

That's quite the jump.

Fox News is ridiculous. They are blatantly biased while claiming to be "Fair and Balanced". The sad thing is that people watch this network and actually believe the garbage they say. How do I know this? George Dubya got re-elected.. Without Fox News' distortions and lies this just wouldn't have been possible. Then again, they blatantly helped him STEAL his first election run for president. Sometime soon, I wanna post a set of polls(not done by fox) of Fox News viewers that shows just how uninformed(misinformed) they really are. Also, would anyone be interested in helping me petition Fox News to STOP defending William Bennett's recent racist remark?

I can't believe that jackass is still on the air! Hasn't his "credibility" already been found to be about as solid as evidence of WMD in Iraq? Didn't even have the balls to go on a one-on-one interview with CBC, in a venue of HIS choice, regarding their exposé of some of the lies he's been spreading on his "show". The guy is pathetic!!

I like Bill O'reilly. I like Fox. There is a reason why they are blowing away ABC, CBS BS, and NBC. Those three have had a liberal slanted agenda for 30 years, it's about time a conservative news station came along. I completely disagree with every thing liberals stand for. Abortion, gay rights, hand outs to the lazy who don't want to work for a living. I have no problem with gay people, but I don't care if they are gay. If our national security were in Democrats hands, we'd be having talks with Al Queda! I'm tired of the middle East crap. It took alot of balls to do what Bush did in Iraq, and there is a hell of lot more to it than Hussein.

Go on CBS? Why should he? Dan Blather Rather wouldn't come on his show after he did a story on forged documents about Bush's National Guard duty. Papers he was told were fraudalent? Look the party is over in the US with the former mainstream media. With the internet and Fox and cable news, the big three have been exposed as nothing more than a wing of the Democratic party. CBS has no credibility.

'nuff said!

"There is a reason why they are blowing away ABC, CBS BS, and NBC."
Have to agree with you there; FOX really DOES blow.

"I completely disagree with every thing liberals stand for."
No sh*t, Sherlock!!

"It took alot of balls to do what Bush did in Iraq,"
If, by "balls" you mean stupidity, ignorance and arrogance, then I'd have to agree.

Thanks for the posts, balrog. Safe to say you'll be a never-ending source of mirth on the forums!

Unfortunately, the link doesn't work. But if you're referring to Stewart's appearance on "Crossfire" a few months ago, then, yeah, it's a GREAT clip. He totally tears a new one for those jerks!! Talk about them getting their *sses handed to them!!

You'll want to remove the quotation remark from the end of that link. Here:

And, no, it's not the Crossfire debacle.

I think conservative networks should exist, no doubt. The problem with Fox isn't that it's conservative, it's the fact that they are lying and betraying the public by saying they are a network that doesn't take sides. As far as all those other "liberal" networks go: I think the BBC is the only one that could be called "liberal". CNN despite all the crying the conservatives have done for years, is actually slanted (much slighter than fox) to the right. In the case of MSNBC their routine changes with the times, for a while they were trying the conservative thing like Fox and it apparently didn't work out for them. They don't have much of a viewership. All news unless otherwise stated is usually conservative since news org.'s are made up of and sponsored by big corporations that almost always have conservative ties. Another thing that digusts me is how fox went on and on about dan rather yet NEVER apologized for the some 20 times they made claims "weapons of mass destruction had been found". Even if I were a conservative I don't think I could trust Fox, any network that has to lie about what they are lacks my trust. That should be common sense.

Blatantly biased? Hum. Just what abc, cbs-bs, and nbc has been for 40 years. Fox is just leveling the battle field. Most Americans are sick of the mainstream media feeding us the democratic party line.

Al Franken is permitted to call O'reilly a liar. Franken goes on circuits
on talk show's and with EVERYONE he call's o'reilley a LIAR.

O'reillery can not sue for defamation because it's true. O'Reilley's own
lawyers, I suspect, told him he'll lose

...so it's official, O'Reilly is a LIAR. I can say it here! He LIES!!!!
