The largest dating site out there, there is a lot of talk about them raising prices in the next few weeks.

I never got anything out of this site at all. Thankfully I didn't pay anything in to begin with, because other than their extensive profiling, I didn't find a whole lot here.

i payed one time for a memebership and ended up dating a guy for a year that i met through there :)

I tried this site...it was okay, but now they are charging to chat, the use of webcam, etc., etc....ehh..people weren't as friendly as the peeps here.

waste of money if you ask me....

I used this site some time ago and it was fine, until you tried to use your mail. I would send a letter and the person would receive it a month later. I put up with this site for a year then left.

I just don't believe in paying to meet people. I also think it's wrong for companies like that to capitolize on it.

There is no, not one single solitary "FREE" site. They all have to make money. POF just does it by having advertisers on the site. Ever see the ads for other personal sites down the side or bottom of the page? I prefer it to paying for the service, but I liked match a lot. I didn't get as much salacious, nonsense email and met a lot of great guys there.

met a few people off there. two were only interested in nookie, one wanted to marry me after two weeks. hardly anyone pays there because there are ways of getting around it.

How do you get around paying on Match.com?
Posted: 12/10/2004 8:03:27 PM
answering that question would be asking for trouble.

I wish I could get my $50 bucks back. 93 views on my profile with zero responses. Including you Rheannon.

I've met a lot more people on POF. I've only met one girl on match.com, but I'm dating her right now :-)
(She had trouble getting match.com to stop billing her after she resigned her membership. This is a problem with a lot of pay sites ...)

Very true ^^^. I was billed for an additional three months after I had contacted them and told them to cancel my subscription.

i tried match.com. has anybody else noticed all the pop-ups? be really careful with any site that has those, because some of them are dangerous. i had to get norton to get rid of some of the crap i picked up on those sites. the worst pop is a trojan/search engine hijacker called huy-search. pop-up blockers won't stop it, and if you see it run fast. even thier e-mails have it, that's why at the bottom they say "this e-mail contains advertisements." epersonals and okcupid have it too. be careful, peeps.

match.com doesn't have popups, you have spyware installed on your computer.
Download this free program to delete it. Lavasoft

You can't respond to the emails if they don't leave any contact info. Especially when your not a paying member :) So how am I suppose to know..I'm not a mind reader. And I don't respond to people who do not put a photo up. And, Sorry I don't see a photo on your profile.
I did go out with one guy from match that lives around the block from me. He's pretty cool. We went out but I just wasn't interested in him.
Then I went out with another guy he wanted to meet at a Bicycle shop so I was like WTH so I did..Guy just didn't shut up!
No less my neighbors boss is on there - so I really made a fool of myself. LOL! But's a cool guy - cute looking too, never went on a date yet.
I think I met another guy - we went to dinner and a year ago I remember him at a hotel I was staying at out in Myrtle than him going to where I worked..and let me tell you that was the worst dinner date I ever had.. All he talked about was my job , guy was so loud everyone was getting up and leaving. Then when we were getting ready to go the other people came back to eat there dinner. lol Than he wonders why I don't call his a** I left him standing at the car... I know that was mean.. but my a** ran for the hills the minute I was out of there..lol
No no luck on Match.......

I paid for 3 months by check.
Met many nice women. Some were just a bit of email, quite a few resulted in meeting in person. I prefer free though. The numbers of women and the quality are pretty high. lots of professional, sharp attractive people.. Oh, I didnt have a photo up either, just a fantastic profile that was wordy but really touched a nerve with some women.
I still have a profile there, and give a wink from time to time, and get messages that I cant reply to. There are ways for them to get around that but these intelligent women havent figured that out yet, well, most of em haven't
If I had the cash just floating around I might pay again, but I would rather spend that money on actual real dates. you can buy a lot of hot chocolates and frozen yogurts or cold ones for the price of a membership

I dated a girl I met off there for about 5 1/2 months. Nice gal.
Decent site. Won't pay again though. I figure at this point it's either free or I do it the old fashioned way.

I actually met someone off there not too long ago. Turned out all the guy was interested in was sex. I hadn't had any in a while so we went through with it. He seems to be a good person and always says he is not just interested in just sex yet he always just seems to talk about that after we have talked for a while. So yes i guess you can meet people off of there but don't give into sex otherwise you will never probably see where it could have went....

I usually get several responses no matter where I create an ad, so it could be your location. Maybe it's the drinking water. Bottled water is usually from some local tap anyway. LOL Paying money makes you feel obligated to like someone, or you expect them to be more porfessional. And too many women seem to want to filter out any man that isn't their ideal. From my experience, opposites can also attract. And I have found plenty of laughter that is worth its weight in platinum.

I have a membership at match.com, it's pretty much the same as here except it's Wild_Stallion44 . Anyway, I've been a paid member for like 20 days or so, I emailed about 10 women that caught my eye on there, active within 2-3 weeks it said (for most of them) anyway none of them have responded yet, and my emails couldn't be any more friendly or non-scary, and I'm certainly not a bad-looking guy (you can look at my proile over there to be sure). Shit, I would have been happy with a "piss off" or two from ANY of them, but it seems none of them have been online in weeks. Do they GET the emails? Or are they cut off if THEY don't have a paid membership? Really frustrating. Any insights into this, guys?

Is there a way to tell someone to go to another site on there w/o subscribing again? ;/
Posted: 2/14/2005 9:16:47 AM
I'm pretty sure they have to be a paid member to reply to emails. When u reply to an email it goes thru Match and if you don't pay....u can't reply. Your best bet is to put your direct email address in the body of your email.
