Just goes to show you that anyone can be gay. Many effeminate men are straight and many masculine men are gay. I used to have a client come in for flattops and he looked like a 6'4" navy seal. He made the shop go queit when he entered. There is not a person I know that would have ever guessed him gay, and no way in hell anyone would dare to make dispariging remarks to his face! It's best not to guess unless you're wanting to date someone, and then it's perfectly safe and not remotely rude to ask. | |

Posted: 10/3/2005 7:27:39 PM | | redheadablaze is right on that one. you can tell alot about a person through their eyes too. from living in key west my gaydar is on point plus i have dabbled with women. i can always tell if a women is in to me by looking into her eyes. if she is looking as deep as you are, thats a pretty good sign to iniciate (spell check) conversation. are you looking for a lesbian or someone who is bi? because there is a difference on approach. | |

Posted: 3/22/2007 8:33:50 PM | | okay, some people aren't even trying to be serious. one way that i know is when they intentionally make physical contact by brushing up against you. whether engaged in conversation or not, and there's no apparent reason for it. leaning in close to say something that it wouldn't matter if anyone heard. eyes are a good clue too, the intensity in them. if they are looking at you when it's quiet and when you glance over at them their eyes move somewhere else because they know they got caught. i hope these pointers give you some clues. good luck! | |

Posted: 3/22/2007 9:08:59 PM | I don't think you can know unless you ask! Maybe try going to a gay bar...most of the people there ARE usually homosexual after all. When you are in a regular bar, many people are straight. There are also, I am sure, clubs and social functions for homosexuals you could attend in your hometown.

Posted: 3/23/2007 3:33:56 AM | I would say that it would be really hard to figure out someone's sexual orientation just by looking. Alot of people get my sexual orientation wrong. It doesn't bother me in the least, but it shows me that, of the people I have met, their "gaydar" could use some adjusting. I will not type here what my orientation is, because I bet people will get it wrong. (feel free to guess lol)
Point is, *cliche alert* don't judge a book by it's cover. Just ask them what their preference is, if that is too hard then it's best left unknown. | |

Straght/gay you can usually tell by their date. If they are single, I don't know how to define gaydar.
OTOH, gay women are often quite turned off by bisexuals. They consider them "experimentalists".
Identifying other bisexual women? How they flirt with you when you talk with them is usually a good clue. The bigger question in general is "is she in to you". If she is, sh'e likely bi or gay, if she's not then it doesn't matter what she is. | |
