I am picking up this woman at the airport, I was wondering should I present her with flowers in the beginning or have them waiting in the car for her? Thanks for your help.

How are you going to carry her luggage for her if you have to carry flowers too.

Have them on the table at your house.

Frankly, I think it is a bad idea over all. give em to her later, like when she is home, have then sent to her.

Last gal that flew in to see me....I had a lei custom made for her at the florist. Put it around her neck when she stepped off. Dead head chic. She loved it. She wore it til it fell apart.

Flowers at the airport is so unoriginal. Brawnydog was unique.

I think the OP has already made a decision on this topic - since it was posted in 2005 !! Hopefully he did present them upon her arrival - that would have made her feel special!

Best left at the car it may over whelm her. Also if she dosant like flowers they can be left on the seat..
Also one step at a time meet greet, help her with her things.Get used to each other a little then present the flowers.

Neither! Why would you bring her flowers? No one has ever done that for me. I'm sorry, do I sound bitter?

dont overdo it and scare the poor woman; just have a smile and a hug.

Why is everyone so against flowers?

I heard somewhere once that flowers are a good ice breaker. I think he should bring them into the airport.

off the top of my head I can think of twice when I've bought flowers. One time the lady left some kind of scribbled thank you note on my car that evidently blew away and I never saw it.

Another time it was a girl I was already seeing and she took them and sort of smiled and went straight to the kitchen to start working on them. I mean, she was 24 and divorced cuz she caught her husband cheating so she got hurt bad...he married the chick he cheated with. So here she is with a nice looking (me at 27, lol) new guy who was already sleeping with her and here he brings flowers out of the blue for no reason except he basically loved her. At best she was polite about it but no really special spark or anything. Thats the hard part for a guy because when u do something supposedly out of the oridinary you would like a slightly out of the ordinary response...not a polite thank you or a scribbled note on a car.

Compare it to when I was 20 and I bought my 18 y.o. gf a big "pound puppy" and I hid it under some stuff in a big box and I told her to go grab something from the box and she found it (she told me she wanted one earlier but I said I wasnt going to spend the $$$ on it, lol..I set her up). She just BUSTED out crying for like 30 minutes. Needless to say I felt like a king at that moment.

Flowers the first time I meet someone though?? Im not feeling that unless I was nasty rich and could continue to up the ante with bigger gifts as it developed. What do the flowers mean if u havent even met the person yet?

to Jaybo , that is not cool. A single flower is sufficient to get the message across.
