| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:05:57 AM | it's been too long...!...i feel like its Christmas morning and i'm 10...!...the Great One behind the bench...!...all the boys rev'd and ready to start their engines....!....lord i think its going to be an awe-inspiring season...probably some of the best hockey ever...!...can we start a pool yet...?!...where's my heini's...?...i'm so excited....!
whew...ok...so...how much did you miss it?...are you going to watch...?...or take a political stand and boycott...?...and...who's your team.....?...anyone care to make some predictions...?
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:07:34 AM | | gonna be at the SPT Forum to watch our Bolts raise the banner tonight, then start another spanking of the rest of the league. | |
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:17:10 AM | lucky you...!...loved watching them drown the flames...
a side note on that series...i found it very interesting in comparing the National Anthem vocalists...
yours >>> hot-blond-typical florida looking chickee...
ours >>> uptight-obscure big canadian french guy...?...
wtf?.. | |
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:20:09 AM | | you know how we sterotype down here---actually, he was probably the only guy we could find who knew the words, as for the blond---believe it or not--our good luck charm--Hulk Hogan's daughter | |
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:33:35 AM | hey...i was talking about "our" choice of vocalists...lol...but i suppose they all look the same...up here or down there...
i just remember thinking..."look at that"...you would never see a hottie singing the anthem at a canadian hockey game...in a shorty shirt no less...?!...in fact i think its always that same uptight french dude that sings them all....!...
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:38:18 AM | | well--from what I've seen on this site---it would appear there is a plethora of hotties (include yourself) to choose from up there...the fact you equate them with a Florida look--hey good for us. As for the uptight French dude---do they come any other way? So--who you think looks good for the final this year? and do you like the rules changes, especially the 2 line pass change? | |
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:46:12 AM | Edmonton of course!...(can't help it...i'm a die hard forever)...
and i love the 2 line pass...opens up the game i think...!
i don't like the new over-time shoot outs though...nothing better than 2 or 3 or 4 periods of overtime...!...although i'm sure the shootouts will make for some nice tense moments too!
the dimensions...who knows...not sure it will make any difference at all..

*afterthough...shootouts...all good...as long as they are not in the play-offs...
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:50:26 AM | Edmonton is a dangerous team, especially with Mr. Pronger on the ice---tell ya what--when we meet in the finals, we'll exchange flights I'm pretty sure the 2 line will open the game, and put a premium on speed...i just hope the referees stay tight on obstruction...if so, the games will be breathtaking. As for the shoot-out...not sure I like it either---too "soccer"-ish | |
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 10:07:20 AM | Yup...look out for the Oil...we are slick and sleek...and ready to BURN...!!!!
| |
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 10:16:41 AM | | Just remember--it only takes one Lightning strike to set Oil on fire -- to be continued | |

| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 2:19:57 PM | The Battle of Ontario begins again tonight. Toronto against Ottawa. Ottawa can always take Toronto during the Season but its during the playoffs the fall but this year may be different. With the addition of Dan Heatley and the Removal of Patrick Lalime as Goalie, I think Ottawa is going to be pretty hard for Toronto to beat.
It has been a long wait for Hockey. Can't wait.
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 2:43:13 PM | My pick is montreal, theodore is a good goalie and all 4 lines are very skillful and small and should benefit from the new rules. Ottawa has a very good chance of winning the cup, hasek is the only question mark there. Calgary and vancouver always have a chance to win. San jose, philidelphia and atlanta look good and new jersey can always win when martin brodeur is in goal. It'll be an interesting season with the new rules protecting the puck carrier and players in front of the net and with all the rookies. | |
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 3:09:29 PM | Sorry Lady bugg....I gotta disagree....Predators...all the way....didn't spend nearly as much as other teams did with the salary cap and they aquired alot of good players. Preds are slated to be in the playoffs this year, and I second that opinion.... Of course nothing against you Ms. Bugg | |

| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/5/2005 3:23:45 PM | Well Montreal is my team... But I cannot see us going all the way this year.. Just cannot.. We need something on the blue line to help Theodore out..
I really like all the new obstruction rules..
Now if someone could please tell me why that guy from the RANGERS, whose name escapes at the moment is even allowed to play that would be great. The guy who tried to eye gouge the Orr kid the other night.. They gave him ten games or 7 games. but he has a rap sheet a mile long and pulled the same stunts last year.. and his eyes are just bloody scary.

It was an awesome game but in the end the Sens won and that is all that matters. Alfie got 2 goals and we got two goals in the shoot out one by Alfie and another by Heatley.......

-Sundin was hurt (Domi looked like a moron, as usual, thinking someone hit/high sticked him). -It was a shootout, those don't count, it's not real hockey
Realistically, the Leafs got away with one in the first period, as the puck had clearly crossed the line mid-air and should have been a goal anyhow.
I laughing and loving it. I've been calling all my friends who are Leafs fans and letting them have it. \
And Vancouver just scored, I'm hoping both of my teams will be in the win column tonight

Domi couldn't wait to go after the Sens when Lindros went down and when he went in the Penaty Box for Unsportman like Conduct, he wonders why? Pat Quinn is freaking out as usual also wondering why? The games begin. You have to love the Battle of Ontario. It is fun to watch.

| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/6/2005 7:15:06 AM | | thanks ladybugg---the defense has started with a 5 to 2 thrashing of the 'Canes. Vinny scored in his 1st game...folks, Lord Stanley's Cup is going to keep that tan, but it is not heading to Miami. | |
|
| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/6/2005 10:29:26 AM | i agree jfalkins!...it's all about speed...and we definately have the rush!!

| Hockey anyone? Posted: 10/6/2005 10:46:04 AM | | just a question for the fans north of the border---does it hurt that the Cup is in the hands of the Colonials? Let me tell ya -- we raised that banner last night, and then went out and played like we never left. Hey Chicago---how do you like the 'Bulin (which is Russian for 4 goals allowed) Wall now? | |
