| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 10:41:46 AM | Here it is Friday and I'm sure by this point in the week we've all experienced some sort of a pet peeve....
What's yours?
Today mine is people who can't figure out what road lane they want.
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 11:22:39 AM | | mine is ppl who stand in the doorway of the bus asking stupid questions holding up everybody else | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 11:39:20 AM | | slow drivers when I'm in a hurry | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 11:43:19 AM | | I really hate any kind of noisy eating. Didn't your Mother teach you table manners? That smacking noise you make when you eat with your mouth open (and sometimes when closed) is disgusting. I get so badly peeved I have to get up and leave... | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 1:51:29 PM | I have several pet peeves:
I hate people who cut in front of you on the road and then hit the break
I hate noisey eaters. Gosh, that's gross.
I hate people who are takers. --People have to learn how to give (and not begrudingly either)
| |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 3:46:42 PM |
People with no manners. If I wait a few seconds to hold the door for ya, and you don't say thank you. Drives me crazy. I usually quip outloud "your welcome".
me too, i suffer from aggressive politeness.
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 4:04:56 PM | My pet peeve for today is a boss that can't look up a phone number that's right beside him. He's got this spike on his desk where he keeps all his messages and half the time the phone number he wants is right in the stack...but he makes me get up from my desk, go in his office and look through them and find the one he wants. Guess it's my fault though..i've spoiled him too much!! | |

Why don't you keep a list of phone numbers at your desk so when he asks you can just look there and tell him (save you some time from getting up and going to his office and looking through the stack ... just an idea)
Instead of complaining why not think of a solution?

What if the guy was new to town and can't find his way on the buses? Everyone knows our transit system is one of the most confusing ones in North America ... try to think back to when you first started using the buses ...

Well lets see, when someone messages me online for an answer that is clearly accesible from a search engine ala "Google it" . Drives me up the wall its like ya I don't mind helpin ya but you have an entire internet in front of you.
Look at it this way, the person thinks you are wise and that you'll know the answer ... take it as a compliment.
People with no manners. If I wait a few seconds to hold the door for ya, and you don't say thank you. Drives me crazy. I usually quip outloud "your welcome".
Doing something nice and expecting something out of it ruins the niceness of the effort.
Guys on the bus who don't get up for anyone, if a Woman who is older gets on the bus, and there is no seat available I am gettin up. Other guys should do the same as well, what happened to being a Gentleman? Specially when the guy clearly has a desk job. I have one and I am more then willingly to give my seat to any older gentleman or women. My legs could use the stretch.
It's the new millenium ... woman's rights and all ... no have to agree with you there ... the guys should get up ... however, the fact the guy has a desk job doesn't mena he should get up faster then a guy without a desk job

| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 4:37:51 PM | | People who don't cover thier mouths when they cough | |

People who don't cover thier mouths when they cough
What if they have both hands full carrying boxes or something?
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 4:45:24 PM | | well they can put down the boxes for a second and cover their mouth,,,, | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 4:47:31 PM | | True ... but some sneezes come out of nowhere and you don't have the time to put the boxes down ... but I agree with you, you should try to cover your mouth whenever possible =) | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 4:50:02 PM | | you should cover yours with a muzzle. | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 5:06:17 PM | another pet peeve, is people who do not teach their young ones good manners,,manners should be taught from an early age.
Another pet peeve is people who pick their nose openly in public yuckkkkkkkkkkkk, I can see someone trying to sneak a quick pick, but the ones who have no bones about picking the hell out of their nose in public.

How did this post turn into "Post and Steve will critque and counter everything you say" Thread, its a Pet Peeve thread join in the discussion or don't waste our time with your B.S posts.
Ha ha ... wait a sec I agreed with your third one ... the guys on the bus should get up when females are looking for a seat
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 6:11:48 PM | My pet peeve.. arrogant people who use people private names on posts without permission. Maybe we should post his address...since he's all full of smiles and arrogance about revealling people's names so carelessly.
But no, I wouldn't do that. I'm not a moron.
My pet peeve ..Steve 1976

| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 7:03:21 PM | Thanks for the suggestion, but it wouldn't work. I do have a list of most of the people he normally calls...I have one list in a book by my desk...another list on my computer..and one list on his computer..phone book on his desk...phone book on my desk..the phone numbers that I would have to get up for in the situation I described would be if a client called where someone else took the information...I wouldn't know about it or it would be someone new...and instead of looking through the stack himself he wants me to do it for him. And I wasn't really complaining...I did put a laugh after it but it didn't come through I guess. Just a little peeve..nothing serious lol | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 7:16:33 PM | | Hey Sassy ... was just throwing out some options ... mainly because I have the same situation ... every time I get a new number I add it to my list (online in excel) sorted alphabetically by last name, but set so I can sort it by first name or area code or whatever ... also I provide support to 5 different people, so I have a combined list, and one seperated for the different groups of people I work with | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 7:25:58 PM | Well Steve you would have to know my boss to appreciate my comment...lol.. and i'll leave it at that...except to say that I have been told (by my boss I might add) that I am an excellent administrative assistant and he couldn't do without me. | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 7:27:37 PM | | Sassy - congrats ... and as they say, behind every great boss is an ever greater admin support person =) | |
|
| Pet Peeves Posted: 10/14/2005 7:50:32 PM | Yeah you're right, Steve, "hate" is a strong word, but I wasn't into overanalyzing my own quick comments here on what is supposed to just be a humorous thread. Thank God you're to straighten us all out.
