| tattoos Posted: 12/8/2004 7:57:13 PM | I got a question, i have 5 tatoo's all of which i got when i was 17 & 18, i was a real punk at that age. and i got some bad looking tattoos ... grim reaper and devilish type crap. At that time i thought they were rebelious and cool. I mean my friends (that were guys) thought they rocked and so did i. 8 years later i'm 25 and i don't like them, and i don't feel like getting them removed. Some girls i meet don't like them right off the bat, not that i go out of my way to show them off. i don't. thats the last thing i do.
anyways, would you hold it against me? charachterize me by my tatoos. usually once a girl get's to know me, it don't matter. but, i think it has been a turn off for some. and i've changed 180 degrees, i have a different percpective on life... and what is cool and what rocks

| tattoos Posted: 12/8/2004 8:33:58 PM | the only thing i think when i see a persons tattoos is that first, they are not afraid to express themselves, and second, if they have good taste or bad taste in tattoos. unless you have a swastika on ya i wouldnt judge you on your tats. infact i would probably have a good laugh with a person about how they were when they got them. i wouldnt worry about the people it turns off because they obviously dont look for whats inside a person anyway. if you really dont like the ink but dont want to remove them (i wouldnt either, ouch) you should go to a good tattooer that you trust and have them work out some cover ups with you. if they are light, maybe even faded black and white they shouldnt be too hard to cover up with something you like. even dark ones can be reworked in ways that would surprise you. | |

| tattoos Posted: 12/8/2004 9:07:06 PM | | Would not hold it against you at all..In fact getting one of my own right away...custom job. | |
|
| tattoos Posted: 12/8/2004 9:35:32 PM | | i actually like tattoos on guys. i don't like them to be covered in them, and i don't like homemade ones. i like tasteful, professional ones. i think they are hot on a guy if they are done right. | |

| tattoos Posted: 12/9/2004 11:01:59 AM | The cover-up sounds like a good idea, although there are more options to explore depending on certain factors such as size, age, location, etc...Dermabrasion and excision are some other options if you want them removed less expensively than laser.
To answer your question: yes, I will judge a guy based on his tattoos, at first. But if the guy explained to me how he felt about them and that he realizes that he made a youthful mistake, then I will take that into consideration as well. We all do things we regret, after all.
If you don't mind my asking, would you tell me where your tats are located and their respective size?

| tattoos Posted: 12/9/2004 2:02:09 PM | I got lots of tats to and wish I had made other choices as to what I got as well. Kinda funny cause I had a lady who was in her 60s try to tell me women will be turned of by my tats, my reply to her was if a woman is not intrested in me for me then I wouldent want to be with her anyway, and if that woman is truly intresed in who I am then the tats wont mater one bit. She had nothing to say to me after I said that lol. So if you looking for a real woman whos truly into you then dont worie about it. Cheers | |

| tattoos Posted: 12/9/2004 5:57:18 PM | | yeah, i've always said that too, " if a girl don't like me cause of my tattoo's then she ain't worth it". To answer your question flareon. I have a bit one on my stomach of some snakes and indian art (under my belly button and above my pubic hair). then i got a grim reaper and a gargoyle on my upper left arm, a big long face of the devil on my lower inner left forearm, and devil/w flames on my upper right shoulder.... they're real pleasent | |

| tattoos Posted: 12/9/2004 6:15:26 PM | I personally like tattoos. I don't like the body covered in them, but a few are ok, even sexy. | |
|
| tattoos Posted: 12/10/2004 12:43:57 PM | | I agree with everyone here- personally not interested in full body tats, but wouldn't just write you off b/c of them. The tats you get are an expression of who you are- or were. And if you really don't like them anymore, do strongly consider the previous suggestion of some possible cover ups.... although the snakes under your belly button sounds very interesting.... | |

| tattoos Posted: 12/10/2004 7:09:55 PM | people should like you for who you are not for what you do or don't have on your body.... I have extensive tattoo work.... if you like what you have don't worry about it...if you don't you can have it covered or changed quite easily if you have a good artist that knows what they are doing.. ... to have them removed is very very costly and still often leaves the skin looking unnatural is very painful etc.... body art is a wonderful thing....I know an artist that his girlfriend he would not cover her ex's name because that was apart of her past...he did not want to cover it or blot it out it was like a scar... to remind her of a part of her life that brought her to wear she was now...I thought that was pretty cool it is just a part of your history...in a wa I think I got my tattoos so that they would sorta week out those people that would be judgemental .....superficial.... I had been hurt badly and I guess wanted an extra layer of isolation...and with my tattoos I can always look in a mirror not worry if I am too fat or two skinny or how I like my body as I get older...cause I always like the beauty of teh tattoos.... and can smile... you do what you want...it is your body...if they don't like them or appreciate what has brought you to the point in your life you are now....you don't need them...it won't get better only worse...relationships take work...and that should be a warning.... but if you have them covered do make sure you have what you want ...I waited til I was 38 to start getting my tattoo I knew by then what I wanted....what I would want to live with teh rest of my life...and was old enough to not really care what others wanted.... | |

| tattoos Posted: 6/2/2005 7:51:22 AM | | i like tatoos i think that what i think doesnt matter at all....if you dont like them fine but i like tats and think that if i like you it shouldnt matter if you have one or 100 no matter , cuz yougot them for a reason thats the point !!! i think you are worring too much about them cuz if a girl judges you by your ink then she isn't worth the keeping !!!! right ? | |

| tattoos Posted: 6/2/2005 11:09:55 AM | Like you I have a few myself and one of them is big and very hard to hide. I can only hide it in the winter because it's on my neck and I won't wear turtlenecks in the summer. I know your pain about people automatically judging you. I get dirty looks every day but I've gotten to the point where I don't pay much attention to it anymore. I believe that if a person judges you based soley on appearance then they aren't worth knowing anyway. Good luck bro. | |

| tattoos Posted: 6/2/2005 12:04:46 PM | | Cover ups are great look at mine! | |
|
| tattoos Posted: 6/2/2005 5:12:47 PM | | my tats rarely see daylight so i dont get judged easily and the 3 of mine are all symbolic to me | |
|
| tattoos Posted: 6/2/2005 6:11:00 PM | tats are hot...plain and simple if anyone is judging you by something other than how you treat them, they arent a person you want to be with | |
|
| tattoos Posted: 6/2/2005 7:22:19 PM | I have always drew my own.. then taken them to a pro to put on...
I think that if it ment something to you then or now then it is probably worth keeping it. Unless it is poorly done, then a cover-up maybe in order.
But then again most women run the other way when walking down the same hall.... So I dont know WTF im talking about....lol

| tattoos Posted: 6/2/2005 9:53:17 PM | | off topic, why is everygirl has a freaking butterfly tattoo? I FREAKIN HATE THAT! | |

| tattoos Posted: 6/2/2005 10:00:53 PM | i got some bad looking tattoos ... grim reaper and devilish type crap if you think they're crap and what people think of them concerns you that much..alah..."some women might not like me". Get them removed. It sounds like you have the problem, not other people JMHO | |

| tattoos Posted: 6/3/2005 5:45:27 AM | tats are hot. doesn't really what they are. i mean.... at some point in time we all do stupid shit, but they tell a story. i have a huge one on my left shoulder. yea in 15 years, or when i get married i'll hate it and wish it wasn't there but it's hot and i love it. who cares. if you like your tats. all that matters. if someone doesn't like you for your tats.. shit they have bigger issues hun just my personaly opinion. | |

| tattoos Posted: 6/3/2005 1:31:32 PM | It's so sexy when a guy has a tatt on his stomch where you have yours...makes me melt. So, personally I think that they're sexy. Like a few people have said, depending on the size, you could find a good cover-up artist...might be pricey, but it could deffinently be worth it. just make sure you see some of their work before you do it. My ex had some tatts on his shoulder blades that sucked and he wanted covered up and we went to this awsome artist and he did an amazing job...only thing was it cost us like $800 or $900 bucks b/c of the size (covers almost his whole top half of his back) and the work that went into designing and making the cover ups work, plus all the hours it took to do the work. Anyway, if you really no longer like the ones you have, look into getting them covered, but make sure you do you research on the artist to ensure it is the right one for the job. | |
