| do stretch marks bother you? Posted: 12/9/2004 10:16:37 PM | | I look at them like wrinkles...you really can't do much in the long run to prevent them...It's all about genetics really.. You can try creams, etc...but once you have em, why worry about them... Be proud of them..You had a baby...Just try and do something about those parts of your body that you can. | |

| do stretch marks bother you? Posted: 12/10/2004 9:05:07 AM | | not at all. the last girl i was with her um Husband ( well i'm sure you guys all read my other posts lol sorry if you haven't) made fun of her for sher marks. i would kiss them and tell her just how beutiful she was in my eyes. SOmetimes its our imperfections, that make us who we are. although streach marks are definitly not an imperfection. | |

| do stretch marks bother you? Posted: 12/10/2004 9:30:28 AM | i dont find them attractive in them self and think the same girl with out them may be more appealling (body wise)..... but they wouldnt (and dont) bother me a bit. Then again i'm not a father but i can totally see how they can be attractive when its a result of your kid so maybe someday my whole view here will completely change.
My personal opinion.... dont worry about them, I'm not a thing of physical perfection and dont expect anyone else to be either.

| do stretch marks bother you? Posted: 12/10/2004 12:17:46 PM | | Myself- I've had stetch marks even before having my kids. I'm a little self conscious about them, mostly during summer or something. But overall, they're part of who I am and I'm finally accepting that. My friend's husband called them "love marks" when she freaked about hers (really low self esteem), she finally began to accept them then, especially after she saw her daughter. | |

| do stretch marks bother you? Posted: 12/10/2004 6:51:34 PM | | I was so worried about getting stretch marks before the birth of my daughter. Then one day, I resigned myself to the fact that there was nothing I could do about them. Who cares, it just part of nature. I never did get them after having three children. However, I think they can't possibly make someone less attractive. | |

| do stretch marks bother you? Posted: 12/10/2004 11:14:43 PM | | my ex said to me one night, "i cant beleive you still have stretch marks." DUH!!!!! they are scars, they dont go away!!! what an idiot. it hurt my feelings so much, we got into a huge fight and he left in the middle of the night. he also would compare me to other women whose stretch marks were supposably not as bad as mine were. oh and the worst part is, the reason i had the dang things is because i carried HIS daughter for 9 months. no wonder i'm not with him anymore. | |

to Cathleen, I don't blame you for being pissed that your ex made that comment how rude!!! I am self conscious about them, but have never had anyone point them out or make comments. Bottom line is, I would take back my pre pregnant body if it meant giving back my babies :)

| do stretch marks bother you? Posted: 12/11/2004 3:39:30 PM | Some stretch marks can be a turn-on depending on the nature of it. For example, some men have them on their shoulders, and I take it to mean that they were a result of rapid muscle growth.
I have some on the front of my hips and that's because I grew womanly hips practically overnight. I really don't mind them. But I also have one (yes, one single inch long mark) on my left knee, and THAT bothers a little.
Heh, I knew this guy who told one of my girlfriends that they were his "tiger stripes." I think that's a good attitude to have with them.
