| Best Guitarist of All time Posted: 12/12/2004 5:03:14 AM | Jimmie Hendrix: For raw creativity, his originals were truly original. His passion for difference is unmatched.
Eric Clopton: For flawlessness, From the 60's with the all out 20 minute solo jams in Cream to his acoustic works of today... The man just doesn't seem to make a mistake and is always on time. Look at interviews, all other guitarists seem to say he's the man.
SRV: Even though all he used were minor pents scales... That man could more than jam.
Jerry Garcia: I think he's very underated for his guitar skills. His scale movements from one major scale to another was just about unmatched. The only place you could find movement like that is classical and hard core jazz. But, I guess 35 years of non-stop touring will do that for ya, that's one hell of alot of music playing. Nobody was or ever will be more dedicated to touring for the fans than the Grateful Dead.

| Best Guitarist of All time Posted: 12/12/2004 6:13:00 AM | dave mustaine for creative innovative rhythm guitarist of all time! Hanneman and Kerry from Slayer for evil Max Cavelera, Robb Flyyn, Logan Mader(i think thats him) from machine head and sepultura for BALLS HEAVY riffs James Hetfield, song writing- even though most of his sh*t from KEA, RTL and PUPPETS is a lot of Mustaine riffs he stole Hendrix, for being a head of his time , and still having a style no one has townsend/ page/ all classic rockers are good Rocky George, from Suicidal Tendencies........have you ever heard a friggin punk rock thrash band with a good soloist like that that could sweep pic arppeggios as fast as us shredders? VIRTUOSOS! of course Vai, Satriani(for crazy melodic futureistic grooves) Malmsteem Neil zazza has some bad asss chops DimeBag Darrel- RIP - everything he does Kirk Hammet- obvious reasons

Jimi Hendrix was probably the first known shredder.......sloppy but it was albout feeling not technique
Eddie Van Halen all of the way around was/is awesome
Randy Rhodes
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Warren Haynes
And as much as I hate to admit Keith Richards.......He has come up with some of most memorable riffs of all time | |
