| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/2/2005 2:36:07 AM | | If your in Lapeer I recommend the Blind Fish or EG Nicks. Both are located on M24 just north of I69. They each are unique in their style and cuisine; However, they both boast a nice****ail lounge too. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/18/2005 6:59:40 PM | Mon Jin Lau in Troy is really cool, it's new Asian cuisine, seems to be a celebrity’s stop when they come into town judging by the "wall of fame" pics..
Tapas (little plates) in Detroit is fun, it is a Spanish way of eating where you get little appetizer size entries so you each order several dishes and share
Sangria in Royal Oak (also Spanish) is also a fun place to eat they have a club there as well.
If you want a romantic atmosphere try Cafe' Cortina in Farmington Hills, everything is made in house from the breads to the pasta's, they have their own garden that they use to grow their herbs.... AWESOME FOOD, but be prepared to drop a couple hundred bucks.
Ruth Chris Troy - great steak house

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/22/2005 5:33:53 PM | If you are in the Port Huron area, I would reccomend the Backdoor Internet Cafe Located on 309 Huron Avenue in Downtown Port Huron 2 doors from the old Sperry's building. They have great food and beverages there. Would be a great place to meet up and have a great cup of coffee. They also have a website: www.backdoorinternetcafe.com complete with a menu online. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 2/8/2006 3:53:39 AM | Historic Depot Town in Ypsilanti has a great pub called Sidetracks. Great sandwiches, good drinks, best in the late spring through early fall. Very close to Frog Island Park for a wooded walk beside the Huron River.
Ann Arbor has the Diag for people watching, Connor O'Neil's for Irish music and good beer, and Blimpy Burger's for a bit of old school greasy-spoon dining.
Belleville has Dimitri's, a wonderful hole-in-the-wall diner just off I-94 to the southeast.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 4/3/2006 1:21:02 PM | If you are in the Gaylord area avoid Mama Leone's... the food is AWFUL (4 foot high capital neon letters you can read from the moon!), the service is non-existant and it's a miracle the place stays in business.
On the other hand... If you want a couple of good places in the area to eat... The Downtown Diner on main street has awesome food and great service. If you want to drive a little and see some great scenery there is The Old Depot (old train station) in Johannesburg (M-32 East from Gaylord... can't miss it) or there is Bee's Cafe in Elmira (M-32 West from Gaylord...again you can't miss it). Both Bees and the Depot have great food, great service, reasonable prices and really friendly people.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 6/7/2007 6:35:14 PM | A really good choice is Gilbert's Lodge out here in St. Clair Shores. It's a lively eatery with trivia on a few monitors and outdoor tables too.
Right down the road is Wally's . It's a little place on the 8mile/Harper border that serves up frozen custard. It has little round tables along the side for 2...

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 9/19/2007 3:07:43 PM | | The New York in Harbor Springs is great. All you can eat King Crab Mondays, Sushi Thursdays. Plus ask for me I'll wait on you. Also good is Whitney's in Charlevoix. I like the Linguini with clams. Best Burger and Friday fish fry at Moose Jaw Junction. Greek is Mim's on US 31 north of Petoskey. Chandlers is good but $$$$. Stay away from Whitecaps in P- town. Rosa's between Cheboygan and Rodgers City is good as well. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/23/2007 6:05:59 AM | As far as Lapeer area, down town Lapeer has Isola's Bistro, has been voted the BEST FOOD in Lapeer a few years running I think now. Great Italian food and SPIRITS!! Also, pizza's and shrimp scampi, baked cod, all sorts of fine wining and dining, and the broiled subs, and bread sticks... and Saturday night open mike acoustic style music. Ask for Teri the owner or Val the head bartender! They own Isola's Pizzeria on Rochester Road and 32? mile by Addison Oaks Park.
The Hitchin' Post has some BIG burgers made from the best northern MI angus beef herds fed the good stuff, not all the crap the big stores beef has. SOME stores around here sell it too. The burger can be cut in half and split between 2 people with the fries that come with it! It takes 2 hands to hold the half...unless you have big hands....2/3 lb burger? And all the usual bar foods and drinks. Ask for Lisa, the little bartender!
We play here on Thursdays, the Whisky Brothers have been there for many years doing open mike nights on Thursdays. A charity auction is coming up in December, has 7+ bands playing the whole day, and auctions during the set-ups/tear downs, for the kids Christmas in Lapeer County....doing it for 20? years or so...
The Blind Fish in new downtown M-24 and Tim Hortons area...Applebee's, EG Nicks, Best Western has its sportbar and decent expensive food.
Luckys Steak Houses in Davison and Imlay City are great! and the Blind Fish same people...
Rob's Place in Oxford, on M-24. New Chili's and Calloways on north end Oxford Tap, across the street. Buffalo Wild Wings in Lake Orion.
Wagon Wheel still in old down town Lake Orion?, and the Hamlin Pub further south on M-24. both are some live entertainment places...on weekends...
Couple Chinese places..in Lapeer. one is carry out only, and the better one, is Wing Wa's behind the Burger King off M-24 across from the Blind Fish...
And over by Wallie-Mart on M-21, Empire Wok? has the buffet all you can shove in your pockets! so bring the zip lock baggies! and big purses! Crab legs or shrimp usually on the dinner menu's...plus a lot of other stuff!
And all the usual fast food crap on M-24 there, around Meijers, Krogers, Kohls, and a new Starbucks almost done...right in the middle of the busiest intersection of town...like no one figured how more fubar it can be traffic wise unless we put that business in, across from Timmy Hortons and the Blind FIsh...and Krogers/Meijers...
Some one was doing some heavy or had a few too many happy pills when deciding to let Starbucks in there. down the road maybe....
City Planners is an oxymoron to be added to the list....

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/23/2007 6:20:09 AM | FORGOT to say, I liked the poster's name above me!
And in Flint, a place to go get metal rocked out, is the Machine Shop on Dort Highway... not a quiet place to take someone, but it serves the purpose of getting your daily thrashing of metal music.
Was asked to play there with a guys band, but have not seen him since...
Brians and the Farm House restaurant are nice home cooking places for dining in Lapeer also, M-24. Country Kitchen on M-21 and Court St. Sams in old town Lapeer for breakfast and lots of coffee... And a new one re-opened after a fire, by K-Mart, can't miss it, and nice place, but maybe $$. Good food.
American Legion has Friday and weekend things going on, but have to check the signs. Good Fish and Steak nights! Cheap beers! if you can get inside!
