| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/2/2005 9:19:57 AM | It's a little pricey, but Texas Land and cattle is great. If you like Mexican, Frijoles is good. If you like Italian, Monis is good. Great barbeque is @ Riskys in the stockyards. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/2/2005 2:41:02 PM | | There are many places here...The Alamo Cafe' is a nice casual spot. And of course the Riverwalk has everything and great atmosphere. Las Palapas, Scenic Loop, and most of the other places along those lines have outdoor seating and live music on certain nights. Nice atmosphere, laid back and casual. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/9/2005 5:05:48 PM | Lot's of good ideas so far...I'll take you off the beaten path just abit.
Anyone living in the Grapevine area knows about Esparza's...what out, their margaritas are powerful and their overcrowded patio is fun. After getting sloshed, walk (or crawl) on over to Wilhoite's...don't let the "biker bar" image intimidate you, there are no attitudes there, just some good people who want to have fun. They have bands playing there, you can dance and it is just plain fun.
Also good for dancing is Gators in Euless on 183...it has toned down a bit since Delta left town and took all the drunk flight attendants with them. It used to be if a girl flashed her boobs at the bartender, she got a free drink...ahhh, the good old days! :-)
On 121 in Colleyville (or is it still Grapevine?), Railhead Bar-B-Q has some of the coldest beer I have ever had...the patio outside is great to get to know somebody...the cars on 121 are a mild distraction. The Bar-B-Q is the second best...my favorite stays a secret! Right next door is a Mexican restaurant with an outdoor fireplace, great for getting to know someone during cooler weather.
Nice quiet dinner? Like Mexican food? Guadalupe's in Grapevine. Look for the Subway on Northwest Highway...it's in the shopping center right behind it.
The patio at Tia's in Grapevine is very relaxed and geat for getting to know someone.
Want a fancy dinner for someone you are convinced is going to stay around a while? Head to St. Emilion on 7th street just west of downtown Ft. Worth. It is French food done very well!
Ok...long enough...next time I'll tell you about Arlington and start with Hot Rods 'n Hogs...great place!
I travel alot...it you need suggestion for out of town...or country...let me know, I have some offbeat ideas.
Cheers,
R.B. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/9/2005 8:19:22 PM | If you want pricey...go Ruth's Chris. I've never been dissapointed.
As for cheaper fare...in Houston, I'd hit Agora. It's a really cool chill coffee shop. You make points for knowing about a chill spot in a chill area (montrose) and you both get an opportunity to spend some time getting to know eachother without to much expense.
Just down the street from there is Niko Niko's which is great Greek food. Or Mings...which is a hole-in-the-wall if there ever was one...though it's got great chinese.
I could go on...and maybe I will...but later. Anyone else from Houston with some good ideas?

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/10/2005 12:30:11 PM | | Logan's Steakhouse by NE Mall is kind of fun and I like their steaks, baked sweet potatoes, and loaded mashed potatoes. Nothing beats LaMadeleine's tomato basil soup. Italianni's on Precinct Line is good too. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/12/2005 3:17:54 PM | Without a doubt, West Villiage in the Dallas Uptown area has become my favorite part of town. There is so much going on. To name a few restaurants...
Ferré Ristorante e Bar, Nikita, Paris, Taco Diner (wow!!!) and Tom Tom (double wow sushi and noodle house). There are also a few bars including Magnolia Theater (has a nice bar with a view) and incredible shops.
I like Knox and Cole area in Dallas as well. Super cool restaurants including Chez Gerard, Tei Tei Robata Bar, Zizikis, Abacus, Cafe Madris, Javiers, Samba, Hectors... man there are so many just in that few block area.
These are all great first 'date to impress' spots.
And I did not even mention Nobu, Dragonfly and hundreds of other places. We are most fortunate in Dallas. I get out quite a bit, and if anyone needs a quick review (prices, suggested menu items, suggested restaurants) just drop me a line.
How fortunate are we to have a Nobu?????????

It not too bright or loud and the food is really good. If you want Romantic we have a macaroni Joes a little pricey but really nice and very good wine,or if you want a little less expensive try Olive Garden that place had some of the best food and there wine is pretty good. Hope I helped Tiffany

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 3/6/2006 8:51:36 PM | You didn't really say where you were going to be, but if in Dallas, there are some unique restaurants, but some of them are somewhat touristy. There is a restaurant on the top of Reunion Tower in Dallas called Antares. Its becoming less touristy as the food has greatly improved. The restaurant rotates around, so you can view all of Dallas. Another one nearby is Baby Doe's Matchless Mine, also near downtown. If you want to blow a little more coin, check out Dakota's. It has amazing fare, and the restaurant is below street level with an open air courtyard. Another of my favorites is The Old Warsaw, but if you order wine, make sure you have close to $200. Same goes for The French Room in the Adolphus hotel. For those two, be sure you wear a coat and tie, they're required.
Or if you want dinner to cost less than a mortgage payment, Mi Cocina is great for tex-mex and has Margaritas that do baaaaaad things to you.
Or just head to Addison. They have something like 130 restaurants in a few miles, you can find anything you want from $30 steaks to seafood to Hooter's.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 4/23/2006 7:37:16 PM | In Houston area Cheddars is always a hit. The food and drinks are good and the prices are excellent.
If you like movies the Alamo Drafthouse is the bomb. It can be a little pricey it is easy to spend 50.00-100.00 for a movie. But you can have a drink appetizer, entree and dessert with a movie. If you want a more intimate atmosphere and reasonable price go before 6:00 p.m. and have movie, pizza and drink for 12.00 each. I very seldom go to a regular movie anymore. I will go alone. The pizza's are handmade from scratch.
Your own kitchen is always the best or a picnic in the park. George Bush park is nice because they have ponds and even a little flowing river with plenty of trees.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 5/22/2006 11:07:35 AM | Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date
What are good local places for a first date, and what are good local places to eat ?
***San Antonio***
The Melting Pot on Blanco at Bitters Rd - maybe not the first date but well worth it for conversation over a 2-3 hour meal.
Fujiya Japanese Restaurant- first date can be in the bar area at the sushi bar or tables then if the relationship progresses they can goto the more romantic seating areas. Fujiya's has been a established restaurant for over 30 years.
Lorenzo's Italian on Medical Dr at Fredericksburg Rd in a small strip mall near Whataburger- Family owned and Rick is such a character. The food is great. Lorenzo's has a nice array of wines.
***Austin***
Romeo's - I can still taste the flavorful garlic in olive oil.... Fantastic !

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 6/25/2006 1:40:31 AM | | If you are in the Houston area, you might want to try the Kemah waterfront area. There are several good restaurants, and I enjoy sitting outside on the deck and watching the sailboats come and go, strolling down the boardwalk and talking, the live entertainment in the courtyard area, the quaint shops, etc. It is a fun place to spend a weekend afternoon getting to know someone. | |
