| Do You Men Read Our Whole Profiles?
Posted: 11/5/2005 6:21:18 AM | Just curious. Do you guys read our whole profiles or just the parts that you want to see. I get emails all of the time from guys that don't seem to have read through mine. Do you think that you're the one that's going to change my mind on what i'm looking for? I mean if you're that wonderful then hey, I'm game! I think I have made my wants clear. Why do you email anyway?

Posted: 11/5/2005 6:39:01 AM | I am guilty of ignoring the long written, novel type profiles. As a normal practice, I skim over most profiles because I put little faith in the accuracy of content. If you read all the profiles in here, 90% of the POF members should be married because they are angels and perfect mates.
A profile is a marketing scheme to me... your selling the sizzle, not the steak. The forums and chat give a more accurate idea of the person you're chatting with (but not always). | |

I agree, if i want to read a novel I'll head to Barnes and Noble. I'm talking about the yes, no prefer not to say type things more than anything. I'm anxious to see if this thread even gets read by the guys!

Posted: 11/5/2005 7:14:39 AM | I always read the profile before I send an e-mail. I usually like the longer ones since it gives me more insight into who I'm contacting. But truthfully I think a lot of guys on here are just looking for a quickie or a one nighter and are probably e-mailing you hoping they catch you on a particularly horny day/night. I appologize for my gender, but boys will be boys lol.
As for the person (forget the nick, to lazy to go take a look) who said they think what people put in their e-mails is not accurate, maybe that's why you're still here. You fail to try and listen and actually try to understand what a woman is saying and would rather stick to your own preconceptions and fantasies of what you would like to hear.
Anyways, best of luck to you, best advice I can offer is "block delete" if you're offended. | |

and so are women. I had a profile wihtout a picture, no response. I put a couple of pics, got some response, I took my shirt off, bammmmoo 18 message the first day. | |

What is that suppose to mean??? now it's my fault because women sends me messages while I had my shirt off? I said that women are as the same as men, no difference. the profile doesnt' matter, I've proved it. I am not talking about quility contacts here, simply stating that women bitch about men sending messages to them withotu reading their profile in its entirity. women do the same. | |

Posted: 11/5/2005 7:36:13 AM | Quite honestly,the initial picture posted lures me...(other wise i would have no reason to read a persons profile)....then 4 sure i "read" the entire profile.I'm not completely shallow when it comes to sending a contact e-mail...Attraction & common interests is what prompts meself to initiate any form of communication.Whether it's friendship or a possible meet & greet......However i do feel/think it's a two way street.

I do get asked when someone contacts me and I'll usually send them out that way depending on how the person comes off. I just don't get why someone would email me if they read my profile and know that what they are looking for is NOT what I'm looking for!
