| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 11/5/2005 6:20:30 PM | | Forget Hess Village!!!! Try Beasleys on Locke Street. Great staff, terrific food and the prices won't break you. Tell 'em Mike sent you. Slainte! | |

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 11/6/2005 11:15:10 PM | | How about the West Town Cafe, further up Locke. Always a crowd of diverse people, staff is always good. | |
|
| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 11/7/2005 8:41:17 PM | | I guess I should clarify meeting place. As opposed to somewhere to pick up the opposite sex, I meant meeting place in terms of a first date. Now, any other suggestions? | |

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 11/10/2005 2:32:38 PM | | Personally, I like Friday nights at Frankie's in Mount Hope. Great karaoke if the conversation stops. Never too crowded. | |
|
| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 11/15/2005 2:35:42 PM | Limoncello on Ottawa street. Nice decor and good food. Staff is very attentive and has a good atmosphere

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 11/23/2005 3:36:37 PM | I went to Main Desserts on a first date. It's a cute little bar/cafe with a nice atmosphere and good service.
Have fun! | |

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 11/26/2005 11:33:56 AM | | Being new here...and really without a car for a bit... does anyone know and good meeting places around the Eastgatge mall area? | |
|
| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 12/28/2005 4:08:55 PM | | Okay, I don't live in Hamilton. But I CAN recommend the BEST pizza I've ever eaten in my LIFE!!! Chicago Style Pizza on Upper Sherman. Go with an appetite, make sure to order the STUFFED pizza, and make sure to go with time to kill because it takes quite a while to bake. (in the meantime, try one or two of the appetizers. Fried raviolli is good) | |

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 12/30/2005 7:54:02 PM | | One of the places I've discovered is Ray's Boathouse on Dundurn. Saturday night is Karaoke night and before you start groaning, check it out. It's primarily an over 40 crowd and people actually dance to the singers, they're that good. | |
|
| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 3/14/2006 8:34:44 PM | For a more mature date with someone you've been with a bit. I'd suggest the 20 Valley Playhouse in Vineland.
Victoria Ave. & Hwy 8 just off the QEW in Vineland
Great food, wines and live theatre. They have winery tours, romantic bed/breakfast getaways as well.

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 4/1/2006 4:59:06 PM | | First he met me at my house with a Tim Hortons coffee! Then we walked to Copps Colisium for a BULL DOGS game. It was a great date because we felt comfortable enough to talk through the whole game. We didnt feel like we were missing anything...well... cuz it wasn't like the tickets were expensive and it was a family orientated setting. I suggest you take your girl there if you want to get to know her more. SUNDRIED TOMATOES celler-for romantics, jazz, candles, 300 martinis! Just at the movies. Pheasant Plucker-always too crowded. | |

I went there in December for a work lunch. My one supervisor picked it out. Was really nice!!! Funny to see a post about it though!

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 6/19/2006 1:24:47 PM | Hess Village scares me. I like quiet, laid back bars, and not being packed like sardines when you're trying to drink your beer... lol | |
|
| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 7/1/2006 11:39:35 AM | | Webster's Falls above Dundas, great this time of year for a picnic. | |

Tews Falls and Crooks Hallow are also good places for that matter.
However if it's a first meet most people (to avoid being sexist) would like to be in a highly public area.
There use to be a nice Cafe in Stoney Creek, but my friend said it burned down last week.
In Hamilton, you can always say Tim Horton's as a default because You and they will always know at least one location in common. You can't drive down any main street here without running into one.
Just my two bits | |

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 12/29/2006 10:49:35 PM | Personally I would have to say go to the beach, there are a couple of places that are really good down there. My first choice would be to treat your new friend to the best french fries in the world at hutches, a little malt vinegar and some ketchup and....I digress hehehe. The other choice down there is barangas on the beach more upscale and although I have never been in there personally I have heard good things about it . | |

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 2/17/2007 11:12:22 AM | Ray's is a good place and also serves up an awesome breakfast.

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 4/13/2007 8:41:32 PM | I think I'd say "no thanks" to Slainte's.
$7.50 a beer on St. Paddy's and after my three friends and I spent about $150 the bartender told us we didn't tip enough to make his time worthwhile. (I was leaving $1/brew but maybe that's being cheap?)
Anyway - Made me very uncomfortable, and I can't even imagine how I would have felt in front of a new date! YIKES!

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 8/28/2007 10:49:14 PM | Any Second Cup or Williams Coffee Pub is better than EVERY Tim's !! That's if you're looking for a coffee. | |

This is seriously the best pizza I've ever had... I don't know if it's really a great first date idea, because you'd be too full to do anything after the meal!

| Hamilton Meeting Places Posted: 5/28/2008 4:58:50 PM | LOL... if you were taking your first date to Slainte on St Paddy's day... I'd question your sanity. It's always packed in there for that event and that is not a time/place to get to know someone unless you wish to impress her by dumping beer down her shirt because there are too many people jostling you.
