Sounds like it's been years since he's been to a dentist. Maybe there is a good reason why he is afraid to go. If he is cute as you say he is, he may have been sexually molested by a gay dentist, and is in need of therapy.  | |

The problem for me... would be the intimacy.... kissing...... and such... she could get some type of dental disease!!!! EWW!!! AARGGG... Um that would put a big ole damper on it for me!
I worry because I do not have straight teeth...... that ppl will reject me.. but ya know... it hasn't been the reason for the demize of any relationship so far! LOL | |

Any poor hygeine is bad actually. Bad body odour, stains on his clothes, dandruff, etc. Not to sound superficial but YUCK!
And to think people generally look their best for first impressions. What'll they look like in 10 years?!  | |

I have a friend who has a man with bad teeth. It makes me feel ill
to think to kiss anyone with with teeth like his and I honestly don't
know how she does it but I don't think she married him for any reason other than
to pay her bills.
I would not kiss anyone with bad oral hygiene. period.
If he can afford to get cosmetic dentisrty, and has it done then that would
not be a problem if he had resolved that problem, before he met me... otherwise, no way | |

Posted: 11/8/2005 11:29:33 PM | Ooh i've been in that situation before. I flossed his teeth for him, got him some whitening strips, some whitening toothpaste...ready set go!
I'd tell her to start carrying her toothbrush with her when they went out like to dinner or s and after dinner she could excuse herself to brush her teeth. And when she got back to the table she could tell him that dental hygiene was REALLY important to her. And if he saw her doing it enough times he'd get the hint that teeth were major important for her.
I've got icky teeth issues. I mean I have nice teeth, I have issues with ICKY ones.
if a guy really likes a girl is totally into her and stuff, he'll make an effort to look good, smell good and TASTE GOOD for her.
I mean having good teeth is not just an aesthetic thing, it's unhealthy to have bad dental hygiene. | |

I am currently trying to get rid of some stains off my teeth (from asthma inhalers I used when I was young they think) it is a PAIN and is taking forever all that I have to do just for it. Expensive as hell too. Reading about this guy made me feel a lot better. He has it a lot worse than I. Well, I feel better about my situation, not his. | |

Apparently when he was growing up in the UK, they couldn't afford dental care etc and he's spent thousands of dollars over the last year repairing the damage but the only way they'll get better is if he gets false teeth like bridge work. To me, if you can afford to do that, then why wouldn't you??? Yet he doesn't want to give up his real teeth. Just doesn't make sense to me. | |

Posted: 11/9/2005 12:44:00 AM | ummmm, as a guy that brushes his teeth twice a day and still has decay and a few teeth that need to be replaced, all I have to say is that laziness isn't always the reason for decay. Eating habits have a lot to do with it. I've also heard from a girl I dated once, who worked for a dental clinic for years, that genetics may play a part in it. I don't know though, I'm not in dentistry. | |

Posted: 11/9/2005 12:51:09 AM | | k..sorry..i just have to say this...sometimes no matter what anyone does they are not going to have perfect teeth...to me it is absolutely superficial and shallow to expect everyone to have a perfect, pearly white smile. why? well lets see...besides any problems that may have occured from childhood there is also damage that may have occured from carrying a child (calcium depletion), genetics can also be a factor. Yes i realize this thread was about guys with bad teeth...whatever. No matter how often and how well u take care of your teeth they may not be perfect and it seems to me that those that think they can be fixed easily by money??? geesh, sorry but try to live in someone elses shoes for once. Dental care is not cheap...because someone's teeth are not perfect does not mean that they are not taking care of themselves. I'm really, really tired of this superficial society we all seem to be contributing to. | |

women look at teeth as well as everything else about ya ..so having good teeth is a plus.and tis nice to chew also..
as for bad teeth ..get em fixed...it doesnt hurt..

I would use bleach or something... if I had no money and no toothpaste...I would NOT wanna kiss someone who has let bacteria build up so bad that they rotted their teeth out...that's as bad as skin falling off because they never washed or something...and the smell?
