Before you jump on me, I used to own one but it doesn't mean I am a biker. LOL But what I see here is SO many white folks mention a harley in their ad, whether they have them or not. SO many women are looking for a guy who rides (I don't look at men's ads!).

It seems to be a white folk thing. Like Nascar. and Bowling, lmao.

I don't think it is mid-life crisis, I think those of us that always wanted one could not afford it until we hit mid-life.

Hmmm isn't it funny how you say " it doesn't mean your a biker" like being a biker is the worst thing you have ever been called. I think it is strange how if you jog - you are ok being called a jogger. If you run - you are ok being a runner - etc. you get the point.

Not so sure it is a "white folk" thing since I have seen many people (not just guys) that are not white who are bikers - yes I said bikers.

You would definitely have to be a women on the back of a rattling Harley with the wind in your hair, the fresh air hitting your face and the bike between your legs before you will ever understand it completely. Don't try to understand it just get yourself another da*m bike and spread the joy.

Harley has done a great job of marketing a lifestyle and selling the idea of the classic american motorcycle. I actually like any type of motorcycle, including Harley's, but the're a little slow for my every day ride. I'm more partial to Italian twins.

I live across from the Indian dealer here. I would definitely buy. Funny, women who were walking were all of a sudden became hitch hikers when they hear it coming.

OK, I'm guilty. I do look at mens profiles that own motorcycles, not that I want to get on the back of their bike with them, but it is a common interest that I share. I have ridden a harley for the last 11 years, and it is something that I will continue to do.

It speaks to some and not to others. some people prefer to drive through their environment in their cage.

To me a cruise on a Harley is exactly that. However, try a few laps aound a racetrack on a superbike. Motorcycle roadracing is one of the most exciting things that I have ever done in my life. I can't see jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, or trusting my life to an elastic bungee cord. But when I'm on my bike on the track, the sensation is like flying a jet fighter without ever leaving the ground.

I think Harley's SUCK.

They are noise pollution, over-rated, over-priced hunks of junk with a huge "look at me" factor. And the men that ride them look like Peter Fonda wannabe, 70's washups.

Big deal. Who cares.

That was a very harsh statement I think!!!! It is like me saying to older women, how can you wear what the teens are wearing......are you a young actress wanna be???

Many of us have known motorcycles all of our lives, but put them away for other reasons, or never could afford what we really wanted. My father and uncles rode "Indians" and I remember it. I rode bikes also, then put it all away to work my way through college and get ahead in life.

Now that I am older and more mature, I have discretionary money that I can use to do what I care to do, which is one of the true pleasures of experience, and financial security. I chose to buy that Harley I could never really afford, given other choices I had when advancing myself and having a family, and enjoy all that "the ride" offers.

I went through the muscle car times, the sport car times, the four wheel drive times, and now I am back to basic transportation along with enjoying the two wheel experience I put away long ago.

There is nothing wrong with that and I enjoy the bike on the road, wind in my face, surrounding environment so up close and personal, and all the other things that go along with a Harley between my legs. I look to share that experience with others, and do. I look to find that special woman that will ride with me, either on my back or by my side.

I do not apologize for that......I caress the process totally.

Just my opinion......

It is not just a "harley" that attracts, i believe its more the attraction of the "Ride" lol
Being a so called "biker" when i was younger, i have an attraction to a guy on a bike, be it a harley or a KZ. The memories of how it felt on a bike, the openness, the freedom, is what someone can be attracted to when they get older.

It could also be a "image" that attracts someone, "the bad boy" on a bike, the hell on wheels so to speak, some women do have a desire that a man on a bike might fulfill. lol

I'm going to stradle the fence on this one.

Like Working girl I think Harley's suck because of the noise pollution. The fact people try to make their bikes louder and not quiter for the rest of us speaks of a few ego issues beyond common self absorbtion IMHO. Without a Helmet Law in Colorado this "attitude" if you will drives up my insurance rates. That is quite simply wrong. Now quiet bikes that get good gas mileage are environmentally friendly and AOK in my book.

I will side with Takingmytime on the unfounded stereotype of bikers. Bikers are like any other group in society, they have a few bad apples many of the rest of us use as the paint for our broad strokes. When thinking of bikers in general I think more along the lines of Toys for Tots than Altamont.

Because of my reverence for the outdoors and all too personal and rationaly conclusive observations I hate dirtbikes and ATVS. Like Road bikers they too may have but a few bad apples, yet those rotten to the core have no qualms about tearing up vast tracts of public land. IMHO any dirt biker or ATV enthusiast lobbying this administration to tear up more, previously undisturbed tracts of land is ignoring the degrading quality of the future of their children for personal indulgence. Gentleman, contrary to conventional wisdom you do not need 12K RPMS to get a woman to ovulate.

..double cabin..and I invited you up to Canada for a beer, man what was I thinking..
..Where I come from there is plenty of fresh air and hundreds of thousands of acres of land for the wildlife to survive in. I don't hunt, but I have nothing against hunters, they control over population. I see your point being a valid one if these recreational vehicles are in your backyard but not a serious problem for the mass population to be concerned with...Just think if we all never had the oppurtunity to ride a "Hog", you can't beat that rumbling sound...your concerns should be put forth to the pollution levels the factories admit to the air, not the manufacter of "human entertainment"

Hearing a bike, any bike, come up behind me terrifies me. The noise makes every nerve in my body hurt, my ears start to ring and I feel like I'm going to pass out. I have a neurological disorder and an extremely sensitive to sound. I think it should be illigal for bikes to be that loud, esp in town where the sound reverberates off the buildings.

I have an intense fear of bikes....my uncle used to tear around my grandmothers yard on his Harley chasing my younger sister and me. Laughing all the way. Yes, he was an ass....but it has scarred me for life. Combine that with the loss of three friends to bike accidents (no cars were involved, they lost control of their bikes) and were not wearing helmets...nothing like a little grey matter on the back mountain road to get your juices flowing....If i have to ride in a 'cage' and by LAW wear my seatbelt, why can you get on a motorcycle and not have to wear a helmet? My insurance rates are high enough....

Ok, I digress....I don't like bikes....Harley's.....rice burners.... So that does nothing for me if you have a bike and talk about your bike. To me, that is the equivalent of me raving on and on about my Saturn. Does nothing.....nada....ziltch.

Now a Vespa! thats what i'm talking about! Give me a man on a red Vespa any day......*yummy*
