| Go Flames!! Posted: 11/20/2005 9:31:05 PM | Hardest working team in the NHL is back at it again.
NHL head office recognizes the Flames as the hardest working team. Just like the Orange Team in F-1 racing,.. woefully underfunded compared to other teams,.. but providing some of the best showing WITHOUT big-name players who happen to be losers and sell-outs.
Flames Rock and Rule,.. whilest all the other guys Drool.
Ladies,.. keep up the Cheering of the Flames.
"The Fire has been lit,.. now lets turn it into a blaze,.. and light the trail to the Cup."
Oilers are going down!!! "Hmmph ... City of Champions,.. LOL yeah right!"
|
| Go Flames!! Posted: 10/21/2006 11:50:03 PM | Are you serious!! Go flames, I think not! I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but the flamers had a longer golf season than the oilers this year. To all those flames fans, it's called the "run for the cup", not the "perfect your swing" season | |
|
| Go Flames!! Posted: 11/4/2006 11:38:14 PM | Oil burns. Just remember that one :P
Hopefully, they'll not roll over and die in the playoffs this year. I don't think I can stand the humiliation of purchasing the bottle of ceremoinal booze for a second time.
|
| Go Flames!! Posted: 11/5/2006 12:45:31 AM | well so far as much as i can tell the flames are LAST in the the division, second last in the conference!!!! what a cup contender they have in calgary hahahaha!!!!
go oilers go!!!! | |
|
| Go Flames!! Posted: 1/1/2007 4:15:13 AM | See, we have more oilers fans!! Too bad, the flames may have a good team if it weren't for the forwards, defence, goaltending, fans, ect... Oh yeah, and the fact that they're the calgary flames!!! | |
|
| Go Flames!! Posted: 1/1/2007 6:13:56 AM | Edmonton 0 1 1 2 Calgary 2 2 0 4
Scoring: Edmonton: Smyth (2) Calgary: Iginla, Langkow, Phaneuf, Kobasew
Last play: (Cgy) Faceoff won by Matthew Lombardi
Calgary is 13th overall, Edmonton is 23, we need say no more till the next time!!

| Go Flames!! Posted: 1/1/2007 7:31:57 AM | Having been at the game, all I can say is Smyth should have been booted and fined for his cheap shot... roughing... MY A$$!
The guy (on a shift change) skated behind the flames who were leaving the ice also, grabbed one of our guys by the back of the helmet and SLAMMED HIS HEAD INTO THE BOARDS!!!!
premeditated and sick the man should NOT have been allowed to finish the game.
I swear if the flames were ever stupid enough to get Ryan Smyth in a trade, I'd quit hockey for good.
The man is a pig and then he's rewarded WITH A STAR!!!
If he'd have had the balls to show his face when his name was called I was ready to throw my water bottle at him. The fact that the linesmen and ref wouldn't let us KICK HIS SORRY A$$ is just as sick as the original act.
friggin edmonton | |

| Go Flames!! Posted: 1/1/2007 9:38:54 AM | | Go Flames, WOO HOO!!! Played amazing last night, nice to see Hamrlik back. Phaneuf is a way better d'man when Roman is in the lineup. | |
|
| Go Flames!! Posted: 1/1/2007 11:41:31 AM | If Smyth, or any Oiler for that matter, played dirty against the Flames.... it's because the Flames brought it on themselves.... They've played dirty FOR YEARS and got away with it... brought them to the finals one year.... but.... the teams are onto them now, and know how they play, which makes dirty play inevitable.
They may not be as dirty this year (thanks to a new coach) but, their reputation precedes them, and likely will for a few more years.....
Oils are in a slump...Hemsky and Smyth are still hurting..... but mark my word... They'll find their niche.... we'll be back... Just like the Flames have done......
In reality, right now as it stands.......... ANY team in the Western Division can make it to the top, just by a simple win....... the points are VERY close, indeed!! Awesome Hockey this year... Awesome.
GO OILS!!

| Go Flames!! Posted: 1/1/2007 11:51:24 AM | "Calgary is 13th overall, Edmonton is 23, we need say no more till the next time!!"
Thank you Duffy!
"They may not be as dirty this year (thanks to a new coach) but, their reputation precedes them, and likely will for a few more years....."
And how, pray tell, are any other teams in the NHL any different? To each, his own, ie: everybody thinks their home teams are angels, but when the going gets tough, the tough get going. If that means we're dirty, then this can be said about any other team in the league... JMHO.

| Go Flames!! Posted: 1/1/2007 11:59:51 AM | I am neither a Flames fan, nor an Oilers fan. I do however prefer to watch the Oilers play, as it is a much faster and open style of hockey. The Flames and their trap system is boring, a tactic used by clubs that do not have enough talent.
To watch some real hockey, tune into a Habs game.
|
| Go Flames!! Posted: 1/1/2007 12:12:12 PM | lol onlyfoxhere... give me an example from recent years of a flames player who was NOT EVEN IN PLAY causing an unprovoked attack on a player from the opposite team who was also NOT IN PLAY, from BEHIND in a completely violent and disgusting manner?
I never once said that the flames instigate less than the oilers or any other team out there, they ALL do it... I pointed out ONE player. Funny how Bertuzzi was banned for a year for being an enforcer and (of course this is a matter of opinion) didn't mean to do the damage he did. (AND I don't like bertuzzi anyway), and Smyth gets a roughing penalty for something that went far beyond the scope of 'roughing'. But then, you weren't there so you wouldn't know would you?
Why do you think he refused to come out to the ice when his name was called for his star? He knew he did wrong... why can't you accept it?
|
| Go Flames!! Posted: 1/1/2007 12:41:00 PM | Bertuzzi ended a MAN'S CAREER!! How can you liken Smyth to THAT??? Roughing is just that..... It was a fair call.
As for Smyth not coming out for his star....... at least our boys FEEL remorse. Goes to show that we know that kind of play won't get us far........
On the bright side.......... PRONGER BROKE HIS FOOT........ lol
