| oh my god.....i'm over him Posted: 11/16/2005 1:42:34 PM | is it possible to have a sort of light bulb moment when you get over an ex? i had been having a hard time getting over a 4 year relationship.
i'm involved with someone now and i know it was stressful for him. i'd get that faraway look, cry for nothing.......you know the drill
but lately i have been getting stronger and today, i don't know, i just feel really really over him.
does that happen? | |

| oh my god.....i'm over him Posted: 11/16/2005 1:53:43 PM | | Yup! sure can, I was talking to my ex when it happened, she said something, can't remember what wasn't important, and I remember thinking, Wow! I'm really over you. Was a great feeling, I think she knew too, seemed to piss her off. | |

Yes I know EXACTLY what u mean mine defining moment happened just last week - and you are right its literally like someone turning on a light and you thinking what was i thinking.
Id hanged onto mine for such a long time - put up with many mixed messages and being strung along then simply something really small happened and I was NO Im really over you and wont be accepting this anymore.
Its a great feeling and such a sense of freedom to know you are now totally free to explore the future not hope for the past - ENJOY!!

| oh my god.....i'm over him Posted: 1/12/2006 6:30:28 AM | | How long has it been since you ended it? I'll be curious if you "relapse". I have moments when I think I'm over my ex, and then I relapse again. I have had too many experiences with driving gfs away because I'm still mourning the last one. This time, I want to be sure I'm over the past before I get involved again, but it's been months, years, and still going. | |

To Linguatic: if you're still having trouble try sitting down and making up a written list of all the things that you found lacking in the past relationship. Sometimes taking a really hard look at written right in front of you in black and white will show you that what you mourn isn't what you really had, but what you thought you should of had.

| oh my god.....i'm over him Posted: 1/12/2006 7:36:51 AM | It takes an incredible amount of work and soul searching, but finally the X is off your radar!
Well done! | |

that what you mourn isn't what you really had, but what you thought you should of had.

No regret, no more tears goodbye ! don't want you back, we'll only cry. again, and have to say goodbye again.
It works !!! | |

| oh my god.....i'm over him Posted: 1/12/2006 8:33:53 AM | | Yes, it happens. Will it last a lifetime? Dunno. Dreaming about the person usually makes it really hard for me, and sometimes I crash back down for awhile. | |

| oh my god.....i'm over him Posted: 1/12/2006 8:56:28 AM | It's allowed, Tinkle. You're very human. We mourn our loss and what we perceived it should have been.
There are no mistakes...only lessons to be learned.

| oh my god.....i'm over him Posted: 8/13/2009 9:17:59 PM | | Yes, I seem to be extremly un-fazed my most guys and even if I like him I do get over him. It kinda scares me because I don't think I will ever love a guy. | |
