But you'll forget your morals and how you were raised.
I'll be your conscience, I'll teach you my ways.
I take kids from parents, and parents from kids,
I turn people from God and seperate friends.
I'll take every from you, your looks and your pride,
I'll be with you always--right by your side.
You'll give up everything--your family, your home,
Your friends, your money, then you'll be all alone.
I'll take and take, till you having nothing more to give,
When i'm finished with you, you'll be lucky to live.
If you try me be warned--this is no game,
If given the chance, I'll drive you insane.
I'll ravish your body, I'll control your mind,
I'll own you completely, your soul will be mine.
The nightmares I'll give you while lying in bed,
The voices you'll hear, from inside your head.
The sweats, the shakes, the visions you'll see,
I want you to know, these are all gifts from me.
But then it's to late, and you'll know in your heart,

You'll reget that you tried me, they always do,
But you came to me, not I to you.
You knew this would happen, many times you were told,
But you challenged my power, and chose to be bold.
You could have said no, and just walked away,

Now that you have met me, what will you do?

I can bring you more misery than words can tell,

This was written by a young girl who was in jail for drug charges and was addicted to meth. She wrote this while in jail. As you have read, she fully grasped the horrors of the drug, as she tells in this simple, yet profound poem. She was released from jail, but, true to her story, the drug owned her. They found her dead not long after, with a needle still in her arm. Please keep praying. This thing is worse than any of us realize...
This was in our local paper today, I felt the need to share it..
In our home town this drug has basically taken over every second person from the ages of 10 to 50, it's a terrifying drug and it's destroying so many lives and taking even more..I know how devastating this can be, I lost a brother to this drug, and others he was on..
Please no pity and such..I just wanted to share this, it's heart breaking and I want to make people who may not be aware..just how dangerous this drug is..it's all what the girl says in the poem and worse sometimes.. | |

I was speechless, but having worked inner city for many years,
it touched my heart, cause it's so truthful!!
I read it to my son in Grade 11, and he asked me to forward it to him,
so he could send it to everyone in his email list.

It scares me what I see almost on a daily basis. Our city park was once a beautiful place where you could take your children. This past summer at the peak of tourist season, crack addicts passed out at two in the afternoon on the grass. It's gotten to be pathetic what drug has done to our community. We now have a new mayor and many like, hope she will bring about a drastic change. Remember parents, to educate your children to this horror. My sister works for the R.C.M.P. and I took my kids down to the station and we showed them what addicts looked like and the devastation drugs do to a person. That was a few years ago I did that and the message got through to my kids. | |

I haven't ever been around it, and I don't know anyone that uses it. There is a life out there that people lead that I am glad I am no part of it. I pray my kids never find out what it is, after they grow up. I think its sad so many let things like that run their life. Maybe someone will read what you wrote, and open their eyes to the weakness, and want to be better than that. Thanks again for posting it. | |

This drug steals all of the beauty right out of you, it robs you of yourself and your soul. It will make you lie, cheat and steal.
It will make you want to drag all those around you into your hell. I once knew an entire family that was hooked on meth. The mom sold it, the daughter was hooked and also helped the mom out selling to her friends and here's the sickest part - The mother made up "diet pills" for the father and was adding meth in the pills unbeknownst to him.... this drug is the devil!

It changed the very fabric of who she was. I tried getting her help, even when she became pregnant she wouldn't stop. At that point, I just realized my support, even my very friendship with her was enabling and I walked away. | |

Posted: 11/23/2005 10:40:24 PM | Remember that movie "Through a Blue Lense" that came out back in '99 or so? Every child should be shown that movie. From the age of 12 upwards. It's horrifying, it's shocking...
They need to be taken down to Vancouver, be driven through East Hastings...shown where drugs can lead to...they need to be talked to by some of the addicts in halfway houses...they NEED to be scared sh*tless.. telling them in school not to do drugs, that this can happen and that..isnt working..they need to be SHOWN. | |

The film "Through A Blue Lense" came out when I was in grade 9 and it was only shown to grade 9 kids..so many of my classmates ran out to throw up throughout the film. It shook some of them off drugs but most, just brushed it aside. I'm glad that theyve now got more videos out..but like you said; it's not enough.
I did hear on the news the other night that Kelowna (BC) RCMP are going around and handing out tickets to young kids who are BEHAVING.. tickets like not where you have to pay a fine or something..but positive things. I dont know what the rewards are but that's a pretty neat idea. Will it work? Who knows but it's worth a shot. | |

had. People told me I needed help
but when your high you know
more then everybody else and
they don't understand.
It took having my ass thrown
out in the streets in the middle
of winter for three months to
straighten up.
That was 8 yrs ago. I feel very
lucky to have survived.
