Posted: 11/21/2005 11:37:22 PM | This is why I rarely tell the truth when a girl at the bar asks me how old I am... if you're interested in me, and vice versa, and it doesn't feel awkward, then what does it matter how old I am or you are? I think there's certain limits where it might feel a little odd, but ignorance is bliss.
Put yourself in the other person's shoes. If you're chatting with some cutie and he asks you how old you are, and then you tell him, he says "oh." and walks away... well, that's not very fun, now is it? If you're having a good time, nothing else matters, and age becomes nothing but an arbitrary number.
I won't ever make up a number, but usually if it comes up, I just look them square in the eye, and as flirtily as possible, I ask them to guess. Then I tell them they're right, whatever they guess. | |

I would however give someone my age, or a few years younger or older a chance if the chemistry was good. | |

When I first started to consider dating, I though an older woman would be the best thing since I had just given everything (and lost) to a younger woman. She was only 3 years younger than I am and she was immature. It's a natural thought. However, this was while my head was all screwed up.
Now, I realize my age span. Typically, it is 18-40. 18 is legal and 40 is a good round number and ten years older than I am. I wouldn't rule out anyone over 40, but I think there's additional things to look at once you get past that age gap. I'd never go below 18, but if she's much younger than me, she better have a head on her shoulders and mature enough to handle a relationship.
It hasn't been intentional, but the majority of ladies that I have dated have been older than I am as of late. It does feel a bit odd when they openly talk about the fact that they're older than me, but it's not a big deal. The thing I get a kick out of is, when I talk to younger women, they'll tell me I'm too old for them. LOL. I'm not talking 18 year old girls because, although I don't quite agree, a 12 year gap is a bit too much to handle for some. I'm talking about 23-25 year old women. LOL. They say I'm too old as if I were old enough to be their dad or something.
Instead of looking at age like this....."When I graduated, this person was in 7th grade." Look at it like this......"If it's all good, when I'm 55, she'll be 50."
Doesn't seem like a big deal at that point, does it???
If you let age determine your dating possibilities, that's your call, but I think it takes a lot of depth out of your dating pool. Maybe even "the one". | |

I have found myself to be attracted to ladies a bit older than myself. I personaly have found that most women younger than me are still in a party mode. They enjoy clubs, bars, and partying more than anything else. At 35 I have two children, pay for private school, have been in my present career for 14 years, and own my house. I have come to realize there is much more to life, I am very stable and looking for someone with the same outlook. I am not saying there is anything wrong with the occasional night out and let loose to unwind but in moderation. | |

My Husband was 15 years older than me...trust me...Age does make a difference in a relationship, but if your interested in light, casual dating and great Sex, Go younger... a lot of younger Men are very matured and really enjoy the Cougars...Keep it light..and Enjoy!  | |

The first thing I do is I can not help but compare their age to my eldests age. The other problem I have, is eventually this man will want to have children of his own. I did my share of diaper changes, and I made a conscious decision not to have anymore children.
So, what would be the reason to get involved with them? When I get involved seriously with someone, I am looking at it long term, and hopefully for the rest of my life. | |

I politely told him I was done raising my kids and was to old to be training a lover that wasn't going to be with me in the long run. I think he was just trying to find some experiance. I told him I was trying to find a mate for the rest of my life. Not a player that just wants to mess with your mind. I finally had to block his messages so he would leave me alone. NOw, if it had been the other way around and he was 17 years older I wouldn't have minded. But 17 years younger, that's just creepy to me. I would feel like I was snatching him from his cradle! | |

Posted: 10/11/2007 10:24:13 PM | There's a rule that goes something like this - For the older person: Divide your current age by 2 and then add 7. If the other person is older than or equal to the number you get, then all's good.
So, for a 40 year old woman, she should date a man no younger than 27. (40/2 + 7 = 27)
Also, I recently dated an older woman from this site. Things didn't work out because I was too busy with friends etc. but she was hella awesome in bed - a total sexual goddess! | |
