| | I'm pissed and for all the wrong reasonsPage 1 of 1 | Ok, well picked up my nephew from school, took him to McDonalds in the Wal-mart.
Bought him food, and picked up 3 packs. I see the manager walk over to a man standing at the end of the counter.
"Sir can you please remove yourself from the restaurant, as I am not doing business with you"
Store Security comes in and tells the man to leave, I hear the man tell the guard " Can you tell the manager that I want the $50 I gave him for the boxes back or I am calling the cops"
Ok, this is a shame and well it should be brought up, a guy giving or offering a manager at a McD's $50 extra to sell him 3 boxes of cards, has it gotten this bad where these guys are trying to take the fun out of collecting for kids.
SOmeone on another board put it the right way
" it's to introduce kids to the hobby"
$50 for the manager if he sell him however many boxes he wanted I guess for what ?? a card where it will make him a millionaire ??
I am sure the guy would have better luck in playing the lottery. And it's another shameful example of some people and this hobby.
BTW, I bought 3 packs with my order and I am dang happy with it.
On the website where I do a lot of business with hockey cards I have seen people buying 40 packs, 100, 120, 600 pack ( which is like a full case of boxes )
Anyhow these guys are throwing them on Ebay to make a quick buck and taking the fun out of the kids hands.
I mean with the cost of hockey packs of regular issued cards not too many kids have $3-$250 to spend and this is to introduce kids to the hobby. Not for some store owner to put them on Ebay to make 300% profit.
I am in total disgust with these people and will for sure pass by any dealer or guy who has a bunch to offer. | |

And you're right...it makes it all the more difficult for kids to be introduced to the hobby...and isn't introducing them to it supposed to be the intent? | |

Posted: 11/23/2005 12:28:36 PM | I don't mind buying stuff for $100 a box and reselling them as we have to make our money back somehow. But these guys buying packs which were put on the market for kids.
Since I posted this, I have been told that 4 McD's are sold out already which means it took 4 days to sell everything.
Could be the managers doing deals behind the counter but I am sure, it's these greedy people paying off managers to score these pack and put them on Ebay. | |

I was suspended for 20 days for voicing my concerns of how these guys are taking away from the kids just so they can make a profit on Ebay.
I am in the middle of complaining to the head of the site, as the mod has a high horse and in no way should of been banned for that long.
I don't get it, I stick up for kids, the new wave of this hobby and I get banned. | |
