Carrots with a tangy sweet-sour sauce.
INGREDIENTS:
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 cup hot water
4 cups sliced, hot, cooked carrots
PREPARATION:
In a skillet over medium low heat, cook butter until lightly browned; add cornstarch. Continue cooking , stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper. Combine sugar, vinegar, and water; stir until sugar is dissolved. Add sugar mixture to butter mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until sauce is smooth and thickened. Pour over hot carrots. Carrot recipe serves 6.

I'm no expert on the subject, but I'd like to think that if you choose what you think they will like, they will love it because of the jesture and will cherish it knowing that you personally chose it and the reason you chose it was because you want to spend the rest of your life with them.
No harm in getting a second opinion from a close friend/reletive etc though  | |

If you're putting an actual carrot on a ring I'd suggest a baby carrot as they're not so big and won't poke her in the eye. | |

Get her the best ring you can afford, without hurting your budget. Be sure it's to her liking, though. Sometimes less expensive rings are prettier than big gawdy ones and she'll be happier if she approves of it. For example, I hate marquis cuts, so would be unhappy to get one.
Also, be sure a ring is important to her, if she'd rather have a simple ring and put the rest of the money towards furniture or a trip or something else, do that. Not everyone wants a huge rock on their finger (well, I do, but that's me LOL). | |

Does she wear showy jewelry with lots of stones or does she like solitaire one stone types of jewelry. The bigger the diamond does not necessarily mean it is the best quality, or cut. Buy what you can afford !!! This 3 paycheck minimum is bull. Peoples, and Appelts, Ben Moss are all good places to look. And remember after all it is the thought that counts!! Mine was a 1/4 solitaire with a real unique setting. Or get one designed if you have something in mind. good Luck | |

Any woman actually WORTH marrying would appreciate ANY ring you got for her as the gesture it is... not an absolute requirement with a specific price tag attached...
And think a minute about what your married life will be like with her if everything is measured in terms of "what does HE do for ME?"
Women are ofetn brought up and taught by society to think this way, and most men are taught to worship women and respond to their every whim, but it shouldn't be this way... | |
