Posted: 12/2/2005 10:05:01 AM | I am aware that there has been alot of....racial misconceptions in the dating world. Here are a few stereotypes that I have noticed concerning the children of Adam (mere humans):
black men: players, big d***, smooth, irresponsible fathers, good lovers but chasers (dogs)
black women: unattractive to non-blacks, fiesty, strong
white men: loves all women except black, but is more drawn to asian women due to their so-called submissive nature.
white women: easy, the standard of western beauty, sexually open-minded,.
asian men: not so masculine,
asian women: exotic, submissive, know how to treat a man, likes white men
Now, some of these stereotypes are negative and some may be deemed as positive. Doesn't matter. They are all stereotypes and as such.... I see them as negatives simply because I believe that people can be individuals. I am noticing these threads bashing my beautiful black sisters and people are all "oh they aren't attractive but I'll take a white, hispanic or asian girl any day" and all that junk. Not that I care (hell more sistas for me!), but I think that is BS for them to say that there are no beautiful black women. That's just...ugh.
And I don't think the ppl should diss on asian men so much either. I mean, I'm not too keen on humans in general, but regardless... I think that is unfair. People are people. Stop acting so foolish. I think that anybody that puts a limit to themselves based on unfair or untrue stereotypes of people based on color have not evolved yet into the realm of the godz. Think on these things and ask yourself.... do I feel this way about potential mates outside of my own race? If so, how am I wrong or right for this? | |

Black men: Some of them are players, some are not...
I'm not sure about the penis thing...I've not been with enough men to make a call on that.
The Smooth factor...sometimes, but not in a bad way.
Irresponsible fathers ... only as much as any other race.
Black women: I find a lot of black women attractive. I know a lot of white guys that would prefer be with a black woman over a white woman perhaps because of that strength your stereotype spoke of. I dunno about the fiesty thing...
white men: they love everyone haha
white women: well I know i'm not easy, i'm certainly no standard of beauty although I do think i'm cute, and women in general can be either sexually open minded or the opposite...got nothin to do with race.
asian men: Can actually be very masculine
asian women: I'm sure some can be 'exotic' and 'submissive' and 'know how to treat a man' but surely women of other cultures can be that way also .
I just can't stand racial stereotyping. It's a pointless endeavour. Just gets people riled up and for no good purpose. It's the person inside that matters, not the colour of the skin or the size of the penix. | |

All of these stereotypes are the result of socioeconomic conditioning stemming from past social conditions.They are changing fortuantely,but old habits die hard.
Although I don't think it's racial prejudice and stereotyping if a person merely only dates people they are attracted to,that's prefference,not prejudice, | |

There is beauty and worth in all people! Let that Marinate guys! I would never let a persons ethnicity stop me from finding love or friendship...

I don't know what I think of black guys. Certainly no opinion on their manhood. I tend to notice black guys are more confident out in clubs or bars than white guys on average. But I've known female friends who have dated black guys and they have been good boyfriends. Using a numbers game is hard to give an estimation on how black guys treat girls vs. white guys treating girls, but percentage-wise, I've known way many more white guys to be bad boyfriends to girls than black guys. Stating that I also know way many more white guys.

Totally not true in my opinion. Most of the black women I know or have known were definitely fiesty and strong people, but there have been some quiet submissive types too. And there are many attractive black women out there. Especially the girls with the high cheek bones and the eyes.....wow!

Don't know about this one. I am not attracted to submissive women. Too boring. I'm Irish. I need a strong headed woman that isn't scared to put me in my place. Although I will say I have dated a few asian girls and was not very happy. Nice to be around, but they didn't get my inner fire going. I definitely prefer women from strong culture. Italian, Irish, Latino/Hispanic, Black women. It's not the color, it's the character.

I wish white women were easy  . And I've dated mostly white women and uh, sexually open minded was not what I would describe.

Exotic. Yeah, but to asians, europeans are exotic. Submissive? That has been my experience. Not into it. But I've also known some very Americanized asian girls who take no crap from guys either. So, again, I think it's more cultural and where they were raised rather than a purely "asian" thing. | |

Back on topic.
Sterotyping is a real problem for just about everyone in the dating world, blondes are seen to be stupid and sl*ts. Burnettes have attitude problems, and red-heads are psychos. Black women are gold-diggers and asian women are nothing but hookers who do anything to please their men...all this sterotyping sucks.
Sometimes even I sterotype people but I catch myself because I know I wouldn't want anyone sterotyping me because of my phyiscal apperance and my use of terms. People with southern accents are known as idiots and stupid folks, and when I go upstate to visit family or whatever their friends always want to test my knowledge, and I end up either embrassing them or straight out cursing them out for being so ignorant.
Point is it doesn't matter what skin color you are, people have their own tastes. | |
