How would you define "High maintenance"?
Posted: 12/28/2004 2:50:29 AM
Hey,

So, what exactly does "high maintenance" mean? I'm trying to think of people I've met, but I don't think I know (by experience) what a "high maintenance" person is like.

Just curious, because I don't tolerate fools, and "high maintenance" seems to be somewhat synonymous with "having a foolishly high opinion of one's importance", at least from what i've been told.

I used to be "needy", I would consider that to be high maintenance. I still enjoy being close to a loved one a lot but I don't need them glued to my side 24 hours a day.

To me 'high maintenance' means that the woman/man wants to be wined and dined in only the finest places, a movie date would be unheard of, talking over coffee( my fav btw),going for a walk(then coffee) these kinds of things would not be acceptable to someone who is 'high maintenance'; it could also mean that you consider yourself a wonderful person, so you look for the very same qualities in a partner; I think there are a few variants in the term 'high maintenance'.

High Maintenance is a woman who must be given the best of everything all the time :)

Nothing is too good and you need to have very deep pockets to keep her interest. She usually has many high rollers chasing after her !

High Maintenance can mean a couple of things I think.
There is, nothing wrong withTaking care of yourself and looking good.
What is wrong....
1.Is depending on someone else to pay for all of your maintenance. (girls you want to stay away from)

All of us enjoy the finer things this life has to offer. You only fall into this category when you always demand but never give back something in return.

Ditto on what everyone just said but I'll add,a woman expecting a guy to be a mind reader. My ex was all the time getting in a snit over minor stuff (I could define high maintenance by posting her picture) and going around in a 'tude.I would ask her what's wrong she would say,"nothing",then getting into more of a snit. She had this attitude of,"Well I shouldn't have to tell you it should be obvious...."Sorry,I didn't learn the Vulcan mind meld from Spock.
