If this is any help.. I had a friend who had some skin from his thigh taken and attached as a foreskin as he felt he was missing out.
He found after healed up enough that he had been infact missing out on more pleasure as the "Glans" eventually became more sensitive from the indirect stimulation of the hand and was now stimulated moreso by the foreskin's movement and the touch of his hand..

could you imagine getting it done when you're older...man imagine being a newborn and never getting hard...take that away...now you can get hard at a moments notice...and thing about having it happen when you just had surgery!!

Regardless.. I know boys who have had to get it done due to infections and such.. poor little guys.. I wouldn't want it done if I were male.. but that's me.. often Males aren't given that choice..

Just go to Home Depot, buy an exacto knife, buy a big bottle of Jack Daniels, to give you nerves of steel, and trim away. Just make sure you have a lot of tape, gauze, and neosporin for right afterwards. | |

The clitoral hood acts similar to that of the foreskin..
The Foreskin protects the glans.. which is full of nerves.. and YES the Foreskin is just that.. skin.. and all skin has nerves..

There's some evidence that when it's done as an infant our brains end up wiring the remaining nerve endings, and the resulting sensations, up a bit differently then nature was originally going to do.
When circumcised at a later age your brain is already hardwired for having a foreskin and all its sensitivity and nerve endings, the result being that two men may actually perceive the same stimulation differently despite both being circumcised.
That's one reason not to get it done later in life, but the real reason not to get it done is just read the accounts of those who have and how it's changed everything for them. More often then not for the worst it seems!

Sorry to tell you paleone but icewolf's comparison to your clitty being cut out is not entirely but somewhat more accurate then your denial that "it's just skin".... 
By choosing to have you son circumcised at birth you have PROFOUNDLY affected the way he will experience his sexuality later on in life! circumcised and natural men just aren't the same in many, many ways.
First, consider the anecdotal evidence...
Here on POF and other forums the consensus from women who enjoy giving oral, and who have been with both cut and uncut men seems to be that the uncut men squirm around and moan MUCH more then the cut guys do when getting oral!
Those same women report that the act of fucing can be a very different experience between the two as well. Technique is different as well as the fact that the foreskin allows the****to come almost all the way out of the vagina and then guides it back in on the in stroke thus stretching and stimulating the vaginas sensitive opening much more then a cut guy who doesn't pull out that far.
The cut guys do the hard, fast, deep thing and the uncut guys well I'm not sure how different their technique is but the women say its not the same...slower more sensitive type of fucing?... I forget exactly
Second, look at how cut and uncut men typically masturbate.
A cut man will wrap his hand around his shaft in a sort of firm "death grip" and give it long, hard, fast strokes. A lot of uncut men masturbate by simply placing their thumb on top of the foreskin and two fingers underneath and use a very light touch stroking action to move the foreskin back and forth over the head of his****..when you begin to truly understand the anatomy of the foreskin it makes perfect sense why this difference!
To expand on what humaneoid has said... conventional (but out dated, pathetic) medical wisdom in the US right up until recently was "it's just skin" but the sad reality is, it's MUCH more then 'just skin"!
There are techniques to restore a "foreskin" of sorts but it is just skin from what I understand. Once lost the foreskin and all its nerve endings and specialized tissues are lost forever... sad but true.
Sadly a lot of medical professionals in the US haven't kept up with the times (it's the 21st century for Christ's sake!) and still perpetuate the "it's just skin" argument and their dated reasoning for why to perform circumcision's routinely....

Now I'll tell you my personal experience. I'm 37, born a Jew, erect I'm 6" long and 5-1/4"+ girth and I was circumcised at birth, in the hospital before I ever went home. I'm not entirely clear on how much of the reasoning was religious or how much of it was just societal ignorance of the day but the deed was done. It really doesn't matter to me, most every male born in the US back then, and even still today, are just routinely circumcised without much thought.
From a visual perspective I believe they did an excellently job of it, you would never know looking at my****that anything is missing!
I've watched a lot of porn and I've seen far to many circumcised**** that to me look downright mutilated, because well, they are. With myself it's easier to deny I was sexually mutilated because it looks so good, it's almost "normal" looking, ideally "normal" for a US penis in fact. lol...
The most sensitive to touch part of my****isn't the head, no way, the head isn't packed tight with nerve endings but is very sensitive in a different way... When I say sensitive I mean like your lips and nipples are sensitive, you can feel the slightest pin prick the nerves are so tightly packed together. This area is on the underside of my****just behind the head, a little section of skin just behind the demarcation line of where my foreskin once started. forward of that line on the underside of the head the skin is also more sensitive but not so sensitive as the area right behind it or so it seems, the demarcation is sensitivity occurs right at the circumcision site...
I can only wonder how sensitive the foreskin I once had was, the number I read somewhere recently is that about 80% of all nerve endings going to the penis terminate in the foreskin tissues! the amount of total penile surface area that is lost when the foreskin is cut off is actually pretty large as well!
WTF why do we in the US continue to mutilate our sons genitals like this!?
Ladies think of it this way. They say the outer most 3 inches or so of your vagina is the most sensitive part, beyond that its a different, deeper sensation, kind of like the heads of our penises sense things differently from the "sensitive parts"(?) Now imagine that at birth they surgically removed 2-1/2" of the entrance to your vagina leaving you with only a 1/2" depth of sensitivity left. how would you feel about that knowing it was done for no medically necessary purpose!?
Within the last month or so I've surprising easily come to the acceptance that I was mutilated at birth, I'm a survivor of genital mutilation. Not so different then females in the middle east and such. It really doesn't bother me all that much as it's all I've ever known and sex still feels good and normal to me. No hang up, I'm not angry at anyone for it having been done, but...
In cultures like the middle east where they practice hospital clitdectomy's those girls often go on to marry and claim to have fulfilling sex lives and even orgasm too but com'on all you women with clits know exactly what their missing and can only look on in horror at the practice and pity them for having been violated like that for no go medical reason!
Yet many of these same women who abhor and detest female genital mutilation don't think twice about having their own sons genitals mutilated at birth for no good reason. How pathetic is that!?
A year ago I don't know what I would of done if I had a new born son. I was definitely learned to the natural side but I hadn't thought about it in a long time, the kid might of ended up cut in the end.
Today I know that if I'm serious enough about a women that she may end up being the mother of my son then I need to talk to her and feel her out on this thing we called "circumcision" because if at the end of the day she can't promise me that any sons of ours would remain uncut and natural then she's not going to be the mother of my children. barring accidents anyway...

There are plenty of circ'd guys out there who are just as sensitive to touch, oral sex, etc...in fact, I have found very little difference sexually speaking, if any at all.
I have been with cut guys who are slow and sensual and 'natural' guys who just pound and thrust.
How you have sex, how good you are and your techniques have NOTHING to do with your foreskin or lack thereof.
As for the circumcision vs having your clitoris cut off....anatomy 101. The foreskin is the same as the clitoral hood...NOT the clitoris itself.
As for comparing it to cutting out the lower 1/3 of our vaginas...again, ridiculous comparison...if you want to use a comparison, compare the same organs...the clitoral hood.
As for the original question...there are actually medical reasons to have to be cut later in life....the most common being a foreskin that it too tight and does not retract properly...a condition that can be a whole lot more painful than the surgery to correct it. | |

Posted: 12/9/2005 1:32:14 AM | I had it done at 28 years old. I preferred sex before I had it done. It has been 3 years and I am still adjusting. It took 8 weeks to heal completely. I had it done as my****grew and it could not be cleaned properly so the doctor said I had no choice. I got a second opinion to make sure and he said the same thing. It has been strange but the other alternative was not appealing to me whatsoever. | |

Paleone: Just curious: why on earth would you subject your newborn to a totally unnecessary surgery? religion? "cleanliness"? "to look more like dad"?
I have 2 boys, one is circumcized and one is not. I never did that to my oldest son. Who has had nothing but problems with his forskin and now at the age of 8 is going to have to get it removed. He has seen the doctor many times, we have waited years in hopes that the problem will correct its self. I feel terrible that my little man has to go through that at this age. I hate to see him in pain. So when I had my baby, I decided that I never want another child to go through that. So I had him circumcized. You all can be as critical as you like. But these are my children and I am just looking out for their well being. So call it unnecessary if you like. But when you have to watch your child go through what I have, you would think differently!
Pardon me for my lack of knowledge and saying its just skin. I didnt know it was full of nerves. I have been with men who have been cut and uncut. Both enjoy sex. Ive had good experiences with both. I have no preference.
Im certainly not the first person to circumsize a child and I know I wont be the last! | |

Here my happy foreskin story. if you are sqeamish dont read it. 
Long time ago I went with a friend to spend a weekend in another city. He had lived there in high school and looked up an old gf. They got together one night. I went out to the pub and watched a game. I came back to the hotel and he was still out. Just before I was going to turn in there was hammering at the door. I opened the door and He was there looking paniced. He pushed past and went into the washroom. Asking why the hell he didnt use his key i waited for a response. all i hear is "oh f##k."
He opens the door, his jeans at his ankles but thankfully still had his underwear up. a pair of tighty whities. Ok guys heres the part you might want to skip...
His white underwear is completely red on the front. blood is all down his legs.
Now I am thinking that the girls father caught them and castrated him.
He says to me "i need to go to the hospital." I'm think "no sh1t!" Why go back to the hotel?? Luckily the hotel was 2 blocks from the hospital. As we walked...slowly.. he told me what happened. Turns out the date was going well, and things looked good. She was experiencing a monthly phenonena were she wasnt comfortable having sex. So he settled for a hand job...
Now shes doing a good job, has a firm grip and just as he cums he feels a pricking sensation but no real pain. few more good pumps to clear the line adn she suddenly screams. He tight grip had ripped is forskin down. He said it actually didnt really hurt at the time. Now this happened in the front seat of his vehicle. even after multiple cleanings you would still find small blood drops from the ceiling to the floor.
To get back to my involvedment. I take him to the hospital. Now we are in the emergency room and the nurse ask what the problem is. I try not to laught as he tries to explain with out explaining. She is confused until he blurts out. "my gf ripped off my foreskin!" Not quite true but she is horrified and then asks how. Anyway after a long wait in which everyone in emergency was having a giggle he got it stitched back up.
He then had this happen on 3 more occasions and so was really debating getting circumcized.
I dont know your reasons for thinking about it but I would say keep it unless you have similar problems. I had it done at birth and am happy without it. If you want it done talk to a doctor. find out about how long it takes to heal. remember things like it scabbing over and then the natural changing in size over the day. Waking up with that morning hard-on will probably hurt like he11. <
