Disturbed, system of a down, linkin park...I'm into hiphop so you can't go wrong with 50cent, eminem...the more hardcore songs. If I wanna get pissed though and lift I love linkin park and disturbed. Makes me want to put my head through the wall. lol

strong guitar riffs?
techno/trance?
weirdish unusual, quirky stuff?
some people like "floating" stuff
that takes them someplace else mentally or emotionally~

some stuff i like, for various workouts
whether stretching, yoga, biking or a more extreme push

the the
peter murphy
coldplay
green day
dirty vegas
ac/dc
yngwie malmsteen
PIL
the cult
peter gabriel even

it's just about personal preferance.
whatever it takes; just do it; girl~

I like to listen to 80s music while running or hiking.

My favorites are Oingo Boingo songs:

Sweat (goes without saying doesn't it?)
Run Away
Nothing Bad Ever Happens to Me
Dead Mans Party
Gray Matter
Country Sweat
The Winning Side

Its GOTTA be upbeat music!! and.. while Im a hardcore hip hop fan and an original b-boy... I seldom listen to it when I work out... unless its slower paced stuff Im doing. I find the best rush... from listening to techno (most of which... Im not really into listening-wise and is somewhat annoying! but it drives me to work harder), and as was mentioned.. Linkin Park is absolutely awesome shit to pump... Limp bizkit is as well, and stuff like AC/DC... green Day... and most metal. . A few specific tracks you might wanna look up that arent on any top 40 list would be:

Judas Priest: Screaming for Vengeance, Hell Bent For Leather, Exciter and The hellion/Electric Eye

Iron Maiden: Fear of the Dark, the Trooper, Be Quick or be Dead, Aces High

Motley Crue: Live Wire, Too Young To Fall In Love

G n R: Welcome to the Jungle

Metallica, you can take your pick, but try for Whom the Bells Toll

Motor Head: Ace of Spades

The Cult: Sanctuary and Wildflower

Well theres a few outta many awesome songtracks out there... have fun in your workouts!!

anything hard. Sometimes my gym plays techno or top 40...WTF! But I guess a little Brittany Spears might work...I get so disgusted that I use the weights to distract me.

Sorry to hear of your break up.You need to get it all out.If your running on a treadmill give Van Halen's "Runnin With The Devil"

This will definitely get it out of your system.

Some good ones that I use are:
Rammstein,
Nine Inch Nails (March of the Pigs, Heresy, Happiness in Slavery, Gave Up, etc...),
Aphex Twin (Donkey Rhubarb, Come to Daddy, etc...),
Tool (Parabola, Ticks and Leeches, Aenima, Third Eye, etc...),
A Perfect Circle (Judith, Passive, The Outsider, etc...),
KMFDM (Megalomaniac, Sleep, Urban Monkey Warfare, etc...),
MDFMK (Witch Hunt, Rabblerouser, etc...)

All of them have a fast beat and good emotion for running.

I'm a big fan of AC/DC, Motley Crue, old Van Halen, Guns n Roses, Kid Rock and some of KISS's heavier songs.

nothing kills a workout faster than hearring rod stewart sing about anything while at the gym.

hip hop is great for running or slower stuff...
Fugees
Bubba Sparx
Jedi Mind Tricks
Pharcyde

But for pumping you need music to kill your puppy by:

system of a down
rage against machine
Ministry
helmet

And so why is it that every gym has Easy listening 108.2 or some other ca-ca coming through the speakers?

Depends on my mood, but I usally like my heart pounding. So I seem to listen to stuff hard and heavy. Black Label Society, Metallica or I listen to 3 Doors Down, Nickelback. I find using something that brings out anger, makes you pump/work harder, like a picture of the ex..

LOL Nissan I can totally relate.

Heres the ulitmate though..at Xmas my gym was playing ...take a guess? X-Mas music like Rudolph etc...now I cant even lift 2 pounds when that frickin' reindeer song is going through my head!!

Half the reason I bought that MP3 was cause the music as making me mental.

Totally off topic- Instead of buying new equipment my gym recently spent the money on putting in TV's...AACKKKK! So now I got Britney coming in the ears and CMT (country music television visuals) ..though some of them country girls are mighty fine!

but then I digress.

There is a dance mix of Paula Abdul songs. All pretty much the same beat, better be in good cardio condition. It's a decent pace that you can keep up with, to workout, cycle, whatever. But it's a definite dance beat keeps a good even pace.
