Posted: 12/18/2005 11:06:27 PM | I have been browsing profiles in search of the one true love. Much to my surprise though, I look at the pic, go gaga over it, until I read the profile. That tall, slim, athletic, big breasted babe is not the same as the discription. In the pic she's blonde..... profile she's bruntte ( ok maybe a change of hair color). The pic looks like she's in her 30's ..... profile says she's in her late 40's ( maybe she ages gracefully). In the pic she looks tall, and slim with an athletic build ...... her profile says she's a BBW, yet the date on the pic was a month ago this year. Yet she packed on a few major pounds to make her a BBW. HMMMMMM I know we are stuck on mental and pysical attraction, but think of what happens when you first meet. Will, you stick it out. Or go bolting to the hills screaming.

Posted: 12/19/2005 2:37:26 AM | I got a good laugh out of that one. The last date I had used a picture that was oh, about, 10 years and 30 or so pounds ago. Last night he messages me asking what he "did, or did not do, wrong." Hhhhhmmmm, should I have told him?
Funny thing is, he really wasn't a bad looking man, was a total gentleman, good conversationalist, and had he posted a current picture he would have had a second date. However, I just think that the use of an old picture (without bothering to mention that fact)is just plain deceiptful-hence, I question his character.
Now, as for the age thing- don't let that sway you. Some of us do age gracefully. | |

Posted: 12/19/2005 5:46:18 AM | I met a guy once from an online dating site, who had posted a pic that was about 10 yrs old...he had gained quite a bit of weight as well. He looked NOTHING like his pic, and in fact I almost left the place we were meeting at, because I thought he was a no show, lol! It wasn't about what he looked like....it was that he was deceptive...he didn't get another date.
He also, was a "grabby" dude...yuck, I mean come on...first date? Copped an attitude when I asked him why he posted an old photo....go figure, lol | |

If you see the photo and its of some superhot woman that you would only see in a magazine or on tv then its probably a fake photo. I have seen so many pics that look like they were scanned out of some fashion magazine it isnt funny. Then the description doesnt match..its either a fake ad or its someone that is using the pic as bait and then hoping that they can come clean once they get to know someone and they hope the person will see past the misleading pic.
I know I said women do this but thats only because I dont look up the mens ads but I am sure they do the exact same thing.

Posted: 12/19/2005 2:28:35 PM | The picture thing is important to me and the only way I know to get a true feel for the others actual looks and build, is to post multiple pictures showing head to foot and close up pictures.
I have a hard enough time understanding what "average" build is, never mind one picture that could or could not be that person and who knows when it was taken.....
I suggest that if you find someone you think is interesting on here, that you read the entire profile, look at the numerous pictures that are shown, contact them via email and get to know them. Once you do that, ask for more pictures and maybe a way to connect like messenger and/or cam, then really get to know them well.
Once done and hopefully in a short period of time, you can meet and find out if you truly have those sparks or will be just good friends and let that be known....one way or the other..... 
So far for me, all that I seem to connect the best with, are the ones that live far away, and that makes it very difficult to know what you can have and very hard to maintain a relationship of significance.

Posted: 12/19/2005 5:23:00 PM | | misleading pix are not just related to outdated ones.......LOOK CAREFULLY at many of the pix that the 'ladies' have up........these are usually (but not always) side or diagonal shots which often prevent one from seeing her true figure (if she even has a full body shot).....even the face shots are often deceiving......they are either too close, poorly lit, overly made up, etc....naturally this is done on purpose so as not to reveal the true look as one would see them in real life........the funny thing is that these very same women say that they are looking for honest men!!!........i'm not sure whether guys do the same but from what little i've seen i think the women are more deceptive with pix! | |

It couldn't possibly be that most women don't care to HAVE their picture taken. Or that most people don't bother to run out and find some professional to snap that perfect full body shot that shows every wrinkle so no one feels decieved.
The majority of pictures ARE bad. Fuzzy or badly posed or poorly lit or over lit and overly made up is a tell tale sign of one aspect of a person. They probably DO look like that a lot of the time. It's called VANITY. | |

Posted: 12/19/2005 8:38:54 PM | Well I have heard many good arguments put across here about misleading pictures and must say one web site i belong to has a sstem of verifying the user they give you a code - you must have a picture taken of yourself with a piece of paper holding the code and send that to the administrators - if they believe its you and your posted picture is close to the one used for verification you get a "verified" next to your name - it helps to sort the crap out from the genuine
when browseing the web sites its interesting to see how many women who are smokin hot have not been verified --- many are fakes and many are "bisexuals " looking for other women - actually makes me think its some jerk male who gets off impersinateing a woman to try get other real "erotic" pics from real women
Still may people have fake pics because they crave the attention - it may be false attention to you or I but if its fake and they use it obviously its not a big issue to them. | |

Something about making their mind at ease that there is a person on the other end. Sounds weird but true. Therefore I put up a recent photo of myself which is approx. over 10 years old. Never been much for one to have their photo taken. But even with 50 lbs heavier I am still not over weight and the mass I put on has been distributed. Also have a little more mussel than I did back then. But other than using old photos, the rest of my profile is straight up. | |
