Very sad, it seems like more people are smoking now than ever before.
That's an absolute deal breaker for me. Not only does it stain your teeth, stink and kill you slowly but laziness usually comes with the package as well. How many of you have worked somewhere and the "smokers" get like ten 15 minute smoke breaks a day while you get stuck carrying the load while their all gone B.S.ing ??? | |

As a smoker who works upwards to 60 hours a week, I resent this statement. Mind you, I have the luck to work outdoors and/or out of my truck, affording me the ability to pretty much smoke whenever I want. Still, I rarely stop for lunch (this is usually eaten in the truck on the way to the next job), let alone for a cigarette.
Incidentally, I licked an ashtray the other night--I'm here to tell you, it was NOTHING like kissing a smoker. | |

My point is that it is socially accepted that smokers take smoke breaks, a lot of smoke breaks. If you don't smoke you have to keep working. I ought to pretend to smoke just to get some good breaks from work. The topic was " Why do all the good looking women in Florida smoke?" I was giving my perspective that both women and men seem to be smoking more now then ever. The truth can hurt so I guess you are taking this to heart so much because you don't like that about yourself. | |

Posted: 1/2/2006 9:35:01 AM | If taste offends you, carry tic-tacs, or drink scotch, the smoky flavor will mask the ash tray taste. If you are only concerned with looks then you arent looking for a relationship and don't have to taste it so much, just don't put anything with taste buds in their mouth.
Good looking women smoking develops or maintains a good oral fixation (also the only good reason for a tongue ring) . Which I wouldn't complain about. Also, women who smoke are less ****y. Have you heard a hot girl who smokes say "it is too smokey in this club". Another good reason, is easy after sex conversation, "want a smoke?" It's much better than the customary "if you leave, lock the front door" and rolling over and going to sleep. Also, cheezy pickup lines abound, "do you have a light, oh I don't smoke, but the pilot light on my water heater is out, wanna come back to my place?"
You have to remember, women smoking isn't a bad thing. They die from smoking, but usually that only cuts short the viagra years when she doesn't want to see your wrinkly old ass anyway. | |

I'm a non-smoker and we don't have smoking in any public place....it's nice now going out to bars and not coming home smelling and feeling like I just smoked 3 cartons....lol
My friend is asking me to find out the cost of smokes down there too...so let me know ppl...

NO smoking in any public place that serves food.
Of course no smoking in any government building or work place.
No smoking in theaters or concert halls or schools, etc., etc.
Basically, Florida has become a NO SMOKING ALLOWED state.
Owners of restaurants/bars that serve food -- at first complained bitterly... loss of revenue was significant, then eventually those smokers were replaced by non-smokers who were now happy to come into a smoke-free environment to have a drink/meal at the bar or with date, or with family in the main dining room without having to worry about smoke.
Those who do smoke frequent the bars that do not serve food and many of these are first class -- completely catering to the smoker. Martini bars we call them. Big money makers for the owners.
Establishments that do serve food have done well with adding on outdoor patios and such, to accomodate smokers. And even though I am a non-smoker, I like the outside bistro tables with the candles and the fresh air, especially when with a date. I've noticed that many of the big chains have built on such areas, like Carabbas (sp) to accomodate their customers who smoke. Good business move.
Not sure how much a carton of cigarettes is in Florida, but they are not cheap. I'd suggest stopping in KY on the way down (if you are driving) or N.Carolina and buy some there. Usually much less expensive.
