I've only been with a guy younger then me once, but my ex was 40 (16 years older) I personally, dont see age as a problem if the attraction is there and you get along well then it shouldnt matter :o)

Hope your happy with him, good luck xx

I don't think there is a problem at all with the age difference. If you are both happy then that is fine.

Good luck to you both

Depands on what you're like as people. Women in their 30's and men in their 20's can be very similar. But if he's the clubing partying sort, in 5 years you may want something else out of it.

I don;t really see a problem. I'd go for someone say 2 years younger but that all depends on who you meet.

Good luck to you hun.

I think you would just have a gut feeling if its right, it dont matter what other people think, if he makes you wake up with a smile on ya face, than go for it
and i agree with steve, 2 yrs is a nice gap!

you go for it angel, i don't see a problem with it at all.
he's 26 (after looking at your profile) and you're only 39, hardly a big age gap as far as i see it, and whatever makes you happy, who cares what anyone else thinks.

Can I ask did you know how old he was when you first met?

Only because if I start chatting to somebody face to face, their age is not one of the first things I would consider. But when somebody contacts me online - one of their first things I notice is their age, and if they are more than 10 years younger than me I automatically think "too young"

i surpose if you were 19 years old and he was 6 years old that would be a problem

LMFAO….. angelbuff6 I read the thread and had to do something that I normally don’t do. I read your age on your profile before I could say what was on my mind…… lol.

You look really young and the only thing that I could think of was… “What does that make him..15?”

Grab him, tie him in the kiddie seatbelt on your mountain bike and take him wherever you want.

OK. My 2 cents… I dated a girl who was 25 when I was 39 and the smiles were everywhere but when it come to just talking about life and things in general, we couldn’t communicate

She kept talking about buying a house with a white picket fence and having 2 kids. After the 13 months were over we moved on.

I don’t count younger girls out but they aren’t my first choice.

as long as you both are happy then what does an age gap or other peoples opinions matter?

Stay happy and have fun

I don't see a problem...My female best friend is 16 years younger than her husband...they've been together for about 10 years...they've 2 kids. She's now 28 and he's 44. It does help that she's always had a much older head on her shoulders...I don't think she'd ever have settled for someone her own age...they both just clicked and have a great deal in common...The only thing I would concider if it was me, was that if it went onto become a serious relationship...would I be expected to have more children...is fine for someone in there 20's as their energy levels are that much higher than when you hit your 30's...I'm only
speaking from my own experience...
But I guess the thing is we are only on this planet for such a short time...if you manage to find happiness, grab it with both hands and make the most of whilst it lasts...Best of wishes to the both of you

Hope everyone finds what they're looking for, i no its out there, well you gotta have you're dreams and i no i have found mine.
Wish everyone the best 2006 that you've ever had and may you're dreams come true too xx

I can honestly say that in my experiance, chronological age has little real bearing on who a person is................. The important things are maturity and mindset.

If two people click and are happy together then age is totally irrelevant..............

I have a freind who is 26 years older then her husband, they have been married nearly 6 years now, and I can honestly say they are the happiest couple I have ever known, they have the kind of relationship that most people only ever dream of.

The short answer is .. I don't think so - personally I think it's all down to attitude and i've posted about this elsewhere on POF.

If both of you are happy then it really doesn't matter - it's other peoples' negative attitudes that can affect your relationship and you don't have enough in common to keep it going in spite of this then it may well be weakened prematurely.

Again, personally I have found that going out with someone younger can re-invigorate you, so if it works for you then go for it !!

Hope this helps!

My parents have been together for 30yrs, near enough, and there's 18 yrs difference between them! I think it depends on the sort of outlook you have on life, my dad's has quite a young outlook, so maybe that's why it's worked for them!
