| Who likes PC games mmorpg's and do you think having a partner into that stuff lead to love Posted: 1/2/2006 8:43:26 PM | | Oh we are to grownup to have fun, to have an imagination ,to play, i found games when I got my first computer back in 98. before that, my fun was harleys, hunting and skydiving. 3 times i nearly killed myself on the harley.I at last gave into the old lady and hung it up. the cost of kids, got into the way of the rest. no regrets there. I lot of people just don't understand , even more just grow old before there time. Its interesting that in asia the gamers are a lot older then the U.S.A. but a lot of them didn;t grow up with TV most folks in the USA are trained by TV enjoy only passive intertainment. | |

| Who likes PC games mmorpg's and do you think having a partner into that stuff lead to love Posted: 1/2/2006 9:48:12 PM | I play Ultima Online....one of the largest rp games. Been playing over 3 years, and I can't imagine ever not playing, although I do take 'breaks' from it from time to time. I find it to be very relaxing, and a total escape from a sometimes-not-pleasant real world. I think it takes a very creative mind to truly be able to 'escape' into a role play game, and I have met some of the most interesting people in my life (lawyers, judges, pilots, other writers, photographers, professors, firemen, law enforcement officers, military men, golf pro, pro baseball players, etc etc...obviously not just a bunch of pale-skinned geeks *grin*) while I was slaying dragons and taming nightmares. Many of them have become very good friends in the "real world" as well.
And, yes, I dated another U.O. player for a while, and it was great fun to be able to play together, and do interesting things while we chatted, instead of sitting over a dull IM screen.
If you play UO (Cats shard), look me up. :)

You're NOT on them to find your soulmate. And when you do meet for the first time irl or face to face.. you've actually got a shared experience and interest to talk about. It's a 'get together' not a job interview date. I know at least ten couples of my personal acquaintance who met in online games and have been living together/married for between 4 and 10 years.

And I have a few real life friends who play. Two are females. It's not an all guy world anymore. And I know a lot of married people in game who play together. These games have become very social environments
I just can't invest as much time as others in online games. Some games require hours of dedication I just don't have.
By the way, the leroy jenkins video was a hoax. Well I should phrase that differently. It was planned and scripted to happen like that. It was not spontaneous. But still funny.
