Depends how long you have before you get sent away and how close you get. It will be 2 months in St. Jean most likely then your trade training depending what you've chosen can be anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 years. Most run from 2-9 months though. | |

Posted: 1/3/2006 8:08:35 AM | i myself have been in the millitary for 18 years and love it. my dad was millitary for 36 years and was good to us. i did my basic in cornwallis and worked my way through the ranks and now i am an officer. i love my job, ive met hundreds of people in my journeys and tours. ive seen the world. good and bad sides that the world has to offer.
happy1911, if you love what you do and love serving your country, who cares what others think. i know we have a reputation,(and not that good of one) but not all of us are like that. i want to say thank yout o all those who see what we do. not just here in canada but what we do overseas. we have a job and we do it well. so my opinion is those who trash us, can keep walking those who respect us, thank you. | |

OT: Considering I am dating a military guy, I don't think it's a bad thing at all....and when he's in my favorite uniform....yummy!!!
The reputation of a military guy is not great however if the people you meet can get past that and get to know you as a person, then all should be good. One bad apple can ruin it for a lot of people. | |

Even got a really cool shirt from a buddy who did a couple tours in Bosnia,Harley Davidson of Bosnia,made just for the miltary guys apparently. I`m about the only civilian who got one .
