OK, I bet almost every girl that has such a picture has received loads of "p.u.s.s.y" variant messages of the "Cute ****", "May I stroke your ****?", "Is your **** friendly?", etc, etc, style. OK - this is all boring, very run-of-the-mill and not exceptionally witty.
The question I wonder is, do any of these young ladies include their feline pet pictures for the SPECIFIC PURPOSE of illiciting such messages as a way of getting conversations going - or are those pictures actually "innocent"?
I have a theory that the MAJORITY of girls who include a picture of a feline pet in their profile are actually doing so in full and complete knowledge of EXACTLY the type of message such a picture will illicit, and are actively seeking to receive such messages.
So, ladies (and gentlemen too, if you feel the desire to offer opinion), are the feline pets on PoF innocently posted - or are there "ulterior motives"?

It's a picture.. take it however you wish to take it..
Others will do the same..
I don't think there are Ulterior Motives.. just a want to show off their pet.. IMO

I posted a pic of a dog so they would speak about my hot dog, weener, and doggystyle, getting licked, humping etc.  | |

Posted: 1/8/2006 6:24:35 PM | No, your analysis is too Freudian and most of Freud has been debunked. I believe it is a purile attempt to show off their most prized possession. But note that not a single mom posts a picture with her child she claims is the centre of her universe.
Stay away from such people with a passion. They believe their pet to be more important than members of their own species, who they would sacrifice for their pet. When a man was found dead and eaten by his cats in a Toronto appartment, these types were concerned about the cats because the man died of AIDS. No concern for the man and his agony of dying alone. | |

For dating purposes, a pet shows they are loving, compassionate and sensitive and responsible.
I know for older people, the pets replace children they once had that once looked to them for guidance, protection and companionship. | |
