| What do you collect? Posted: 1/12/2006 12:59:42 AM | I collect polar bears ... anything with a polar bear on it. I have many stuffed bears, but also many pictures. Some I have personally made (I do cross stitch), some I have personally designed and then made them. I have polar bear tee shirts, sweatshirts, mouse pad by the computer, figurines, earrings, necklaces, watch ... a sign that hangs on my door that says, "A polar bear lives here." A bumper sticker that says, "I brake for polar bears."
I graduated from North High School in Columbus, Ohio. Our mascot was the polar bear.
I also have figurines of nurses ... given to me by my clients and friends.
I used to collect hurricane lamps ... had to give that up when I moved to Hawaii. Those container trucks can only hold so much stuff!

| What do you collect? Posted: 1/12/2006 6:32:21 PM | Penguins. I had to do a report on an animal when I was in the sixth grade and I got "stuck" with the penguin b/c everything else was taken. Now I love them, they are so adorable and many different interpretations of them. Also matroyshka dolls. They are Russian nesting dolls, you know there's a big one, you open it there's one inside, you open there's another, and so on. Along with hand-painted Russian boxes. My heritage is Russian and my grandfather got me into them. I have so many of the dolls, the best part is seeing how many are inside and how small they are. The traditional ones are all handpainted and I have some where the smallest one is half the size of my pinkie, but the detail is just as good on the small one as it is on the big one! | |

| What do you collect? Posted: 1/12/2006 6:57:23 PM | I collect Pegasus... stuff.
My entire apartment is FULL of pegasus stuff. Pictures, pewter figurines, one big bronze figure (my favorite), stuffed dolls, glass, plaster, you name it.
I collect them because they're difficult to find. Unicorns and dragons are everywhere, but a good pegasus (without a horn) is very hard to find.
I also collect lemur dolls when I travel. I have one from England, California, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. Also difficult to find.

| What do you collect? Posted: 1/14/2006 5:28:47 PM | books, and far too many of them. mostly non fiction, but i have more than fit in my 8 cases, truly it IS a sickness.
first editions, antiquarian books, art books, cookbooks old and new, children's books, history, philosophy, spirituality, psychology, sociology, health, biographies, a varied library.
lithographs, old photographs, art prints, some military memorabilia, unusual textiles, pottery, some gems, rocks and unusual jewlery. music via album collections, single albums, cds. do coats, shoes, boots, purses and lingerie count as collectables?!
i also have some unique and old wooden furniture. i love tables, chairs, desks and armoirs. i hate to admit too many mirrors, wooden and/or carved.
i am better than i used to be, lthe past few years i have taken to donating more so i can acrue more; and while kitchen things and gadgets are intriguing to me i quit buying china and dishware as much as i used to; i have too many sets of these kinds of things as it is.

@Dani Disaster... ...I wasn't impressed when my teen really did start collecting empty liquor bottles. He was bringing them from everywhere... .....like what are you doing boy, raiding people's trash?
His room soon rivalled the Liquor Control Board. Make momma proud son!
Gotta love those teens!
