Since I was a teenager I've had collections of things:

an entire series of a 70's teen magazine called Melanie (must be worth a fortune to someone by now)

all different types of mugs (drinking variety)

huge amount of non-fiction books

hundreds of Beanie babies.

house plants- must have about 60 !

hundreds of LP's

I know I'm not alone... what's yours?

Recently counted up my cookery books and I've got well over 50 now. I really should start using them some time soon.

I've bought at least half a dozen this year.

To me all priceless memories to my sis junk collecting dust and taking up valuable space.

Does shoes and bags count or is that a excuse for spending money and not throwing anything away! lol

I love earrings and collecting them is a fun inexpensive hobby which also fits in with my love of treating "me" when I go shopping. I didn't have my ears pierced until I was 40 (as I'd always thought that making holes in your body was not natural) but having it done at 40 fitted with my rebellion streak at that time. I now have all manner of earrings. A lot are cheap and colourful and some more costly but I love them and like to match them to what I'm wearing. Ferrero Rocher boxes make fab earring boxes.....and you get to eat the chocs first.

My new collection which I have only just started is reading glasses. I am suffering from the middle aged person's affliction of struggling with reading small print and just need reading glasses. I bought my first pair from Superdrug but discovered that I needed more than one pair - as I kept forgetting them. I keep hearing from friends that you can get them from the £1 shop. Thats an aim but I've not satisfied it yet. However, I've built my collection up to 4 pairs now - in various colours - by buying off of EBay. I don't think I will get to owning as many pairs as I have earrings but they are inexpensive and its fun wearing different pairs so maybe.....!!!

Pewter dogs.

My late mum had a few Boxers which I inherited so I went ebaying & bought lots more of all different varieties, now the glass shelf on the tv stand is adorned with loads of the damn things!

Other than that I try not to collect anything that I can't use or enjoy on a regular basis as then they become objects shoved in a cupboard or, worse still, the loft with no value to anyone except the dustman eventually!
