| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/16/2006 7:30:14 PM | It seems to be as much a lost art as long term marriage is. So while I am curious about whether or not the guys LIKE it. I'm interested in all views. I made marinated baked beef ribs that finish on the BBQ as well as stuffed 2x baked cheese potatoes and a Mandarin and pine nut salad tonight | |

I enjoy it when someone likes it, and the dishes come back clean, nothing left. When the kids , are someone else is in there talking to me, yea I enjoy it more then.

Big regret right now is that I don't get to really go nuts and get creative right now, as I am too busy.

It seems only a small amout of people make dinner from scratch, about 31%. So, if your recipe starts, "First you open a can of..." then you are in the majority.

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/17/2006 9:18:18 AM | | Most of my cooking is from scratch but sometimes yer just dragging yer butt. Its pretty nice then. The other night I came home and was bagged. Boiled up some Macaroni, threw in a can of Lobster bisque, 2 drained cans of Tuna and some shredded Cheddar. Some bread crumbs on top and baked it for awhile. It was very good. Which is always a pleasant surprise as some concoctions aren't | |

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/17/2006 1:58:27 PM | I love cooking, creating something new and delicious each time. I guess that's why I enjoy my job so much. I also like to bake and decorate cakes. And I cook at home as well as at work. OK, that's 'cause I live alone, but I still love to cook!!

It's a hoot. The time fly's by and cooking is a blast!

Cooking and sharing your cooking is something amazing.
However in my case the last 3 years I have been quite busy and come back home late (around 8pm every night) so do not really have time during the day to go and buy all the ingredients to start from scratch and cook me a home made curry. Besides, I am living in Scotland and (I am not complaining here) but the variety of the ingredients is relatively limited compared to continental Europe for example. Although getting better and better everyday.
Still I do my best to pack my fridge during the weekend! I am not a freezer lover (mmm that is a very weird fetish by the way).

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/20/2006 12:29:02 PM | | I really enjoy it. I know a number of people who can't believe I spend so much time looking for recipes and cooking for just one. Most of my meals are from scratch, it is more a health issue than a need to be "from scratch". | |

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/21/2006 8:53:20 PM | I do REALLY enjoy cooking.Yeah,I make many meals from scratch myself. Cooking is relaxing, creative, fun. I too look for recipes and cook for one. I'm into really healthy fare organic, natural & the like. Much better than the processed fast food stuff too! I don't bake as much as I use to. | |

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/21/2006 8:57:08 PM | | I love to cook. Rather peaceful and relaxing. I try to bake when I can too, not so much for me, but for the smells in the kitchen. I give most of it away. | |

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/21/2006 11:27:30 PM | To be honest I find that I love to cook, but not professionally annymore, for a person(s) that I really care about.
To take a few ingredients and whip up a quick meal is an art form that I am very passionate about. To create a meal like: Crusted chicken breasts with raspberry and white wine reduction, grilled nugget potatos and some steamed brocolli with 4 cheese sauce - takes under 1 hour but the pleasure for me as well as my guest can't be measured.
So, to answer your question, do I love cooking - almost as much as sex I do

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/22/2006 3:58:21 AM | I don't cook much, but I wish I did.
I wish I could be a profesional chef, but I would probably make a bad one since I don't like a lot of stuff that is always used in resturant food.

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/22/2006 6:45:07 AM | Yes I do enjoy cooking....I love to look at recipe books and enjoy watching the food channel to finding out new ideas. It's definately one of the creative arts but I don't always cook just for me so it's mostly when I have someone to cook for that I do it.
Oh I just realised the OP was aimed at guys. My ex fiance was a very creative cook and seemed to thoroughly enjoy when I would taste his cooking. It was a real turn on.

| Do many of you ENJOY cooking? Posted: 1/22/2006 11:56:37 AM | | If the TV is on, it is on the Food Network. I love to read and have many cook books. It came about as I lived quite a distance from town and delivery just wasn't possible. Campbell's soup, popcorn and beer kept me alive for awhile but after dropping to 165ibs my Mother gave me a cookbook and "suggested" I read it. Started an interest that hasn't abated so far. Even thought about opening a restaurant of my own ..... till I REALLY looked at the details of it. Usually anything that we HAVE to do is no longer as much fun. Plus 1 in 3 fails within a year. But nothing is as satisfying as 'breaking bread" with someone. | |
