| | Opinions please - Is this normal!!!!!Page 1 of 7 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) | This may sound strange but I've been dating a guy for a little over 4 weeks and there are a few "personal" things that he does that I find gross. The major thing that's weird is he's already farting in front of me. Should I be offended by this??? Also, he's doing other bodily functions in front of me too like spitting and picking his zits.
We've only been dating for 4 weeks. Is this NORMAL!!!??? HELP!

| Opinions please - Is this normal!!!!! Posted: 1/18/2006 2:11:54 PM | it's gross and in my prudish opinion a little disrespectful.
i went out on a double date with my old roomie and her guy and my boyfriend and her guy thought it was cool to fart at the table and we all thought he was an idiot
we were right | |

| Opinions please - Is this normal!!!!! Posted: 1/18/2006 2:12:14 PM | | It's gross.I'll give you that! But maybe he feels comfortable around you and hence he's "letting losose"? I'd just ask him politely to stop doing certain things around you that you find revolting. Like.. maybe you could deal with the farting thing *afterall it's a natural function* Or when he farts say "the least you could do is excuse yourself"... but the zit thing *shudders* that's just nasty ..eww | |

| Opinions please - Is this normal!!!!! Posted: 1/18/2006 2:14:06 PM | A wife of 30 years will still think that a fart is disgusting. And no matter how many times she asks him to do it elsewhere, he won't. Deal with it. Men fart. Move on because of a fart?
I had to break up with her because her toenails weren't as clean as I'd like them to be . . . Hello? Does this make any sense?

| Opinions please - Is this normal!!!!! Posted: 1/18/2006 2:16:04 PM | Well, sounds kinda gross. Got to give him credit for being himself.
I suppose you could point it that this display of bodily functions is a unpleasant to witness and ask him to keep it a little more to himself in the bathroom.
Is it normal. Well, guess one could say yes. They sound like all normal bodily functions. Maybe not normal to be sharing them with a partner so new into a relationship though.
Good luck. | |

| Opinions please - Is this normal!!!!! Posted: 1/18/2006 2:22:10 PM | | He does excuse himself when he farts. So this is just a sign that he feels comfortable around me and it's not because he is being disrespectful??? | |

I wouldn't do it, but--HECK!--if she doesn't have the courage to say something, it's her fault. Don't blame the farter; blame the quiet mouse who hasn't said anything yet.
And YES--farting can be an event . . . with proper (improper, actually) company.
Edit: see my dog over there to the left? She can drive me out of the room with the smell of her farts. Ugh! Bad dog!

manners never go out of style.
these few words say it all. I mean for goodness sakes...after 4 weeks? I dread to think what he will be like by 4 years. Not an auspicious start to a relationship. Course we know, farts happen.....but c'mon use the bathroom at least till you get to the 4 month mark. LOL

| Opinions please - Is this normal!!!!! Posted: 1/18/2006 2:34:14 PM | | So I guess I should say something to him and let him know I think it's gross that he farts. Admittedly, he only picked his zit once in front of me and I caught him doing it on the sly. But the spitting thing, he's doing that all the time. Ugh. I've told him that it bothers me. He tells me it's part of his personality... | |
