raw ginger root (not the candied or cooked kind) will fight a cold that feels like it's coming on...and gives you an energy boost...

garlic is great to clear sinuses...

a little turkey breast cooked in a non-fatty way can help you sleep better that night (it's the tryptophin)

My grandmother thought that rhubarb was a great "spring tonic"

Wild blueberries are delicious and have lots of anit-oxident properties, they say.

Garlic - yes. But both of you have to eat it.

lots of vegetables, like brocoli, carrots, tomatoes, fruits like cantalope, grapes, oranges, apples, and pears; these veggies and fruits have cancer fighting agents and antioxidents, plus very yummy too.

Peppermint leaves steeped in tea make a good cure for a stomach ache

Jewel Weed is a good remedy for poison ivy and usually grows close by, make a salve out of the leaves and flowers and spread it on

Olive oil warmed is a great massage oil and is absorbed by the skin unlike the man made crap that you have to scrub off.

if you have sore muscles...apples help...the best thing is to take a bath with apple cider vinegar in teh tub..like 1 or 2 cups and soak about 10 minutes...you can also eat apples or apple sauce.... but the acid in the apples reacts with those in teh muscles...it really helps........ I am a gymnastics coach and the girls swear by it

Hey there just wanted to give my 2 cents. I have just finished a 6 day fast and 3 days of food reintroduction. I learned a lot about my body and appreciate good food.I never did the fast to loose weight but to cleanse my body.I drank vegetable juice for 9 DAYS. I lost 10 pds and feel amazing and will do a fast once a year for the rest of my life. Now pass me a beer.

I walked into Trader Joe's the other night coughing and hacking the whole way. I picked up a sample of Orange Spice Rooibos tea that they had and almost instantly my lungs cleared. The next day I was back to coughing and hacking and I went back to Trader Joe's to see if the tea would work again. It did. I have no idea if it is the Rooibos ingredient, the orange peels, chickory or cloves that is in it, but it worked. I would recommend it to anyone with asthma or lung problems to at least give it a try.

I heard chicken crap makes your moustache grow thicker... or maybe that's just an ol' wives tale my portuguese grandfather told me to help my transition into manhood.

What's that smell?

Shiraz wine (my favorite) and other red wines contain compounds called polyphenols. Catechins and resveratrol, have anti oxidant or anti cancer properties.

Red salmon contain the Omega-3 anti-oxidants, flax breads, same thing for nuts like: Filberts, Walnuts, and almonds. Deep colored vegetables (broccoli). Tons of fruit. Multi-Vitamins and supplements like Ginko Biloba.

Public libraries should provide you with excellent resources.

Ya'll don't EVEN get me started on this subject ! I have some friends who own a natural food company located on a 2000 acre organic farm. They do not use anything BUT food and herbs for there family health plan. They are "Assurance rather than Insurance" all the way.

The company offers many excellent books on topics ranging from Apple cider vinegar & biological dentistry, to vaccination deceptions & What your Dr. may NOT tell you about menopause (men on pause - -lol )

For instance, Here's a little blurb on oregano oil: Prepared Oregano has been called a medicine chest in a bottle; it is used by many to reverse numerous ailments. This herb has been commonly used for protection from infections and contagious diseases.

Also garlic and raw honey have exceptional antibacterial qualities. A couple books I think everyone should read include:

It's All In Your Head - - Dr. Hal Huggins - - biological dentistry
Nurishing Traditions - - Sally Fallon - - Food & preperation
Ten Essential Foods - - - ? ? ? - - - Foods with exceptional health benefits
Ten Essential herbs same -- - - Herbs " " " "
The Makers Diet Jordan Rubin - - - Dietary advise from The desinger of your body

If anybody really needs to get into this topic - - hit me up on a priv. mssg.
