What is your favorite city/town, you lived in or would like to live in? Why is that?

I don't have specific city name. My profession requires me to travel a lot, and for now, there are lots of places that I like and it would be impossible to choose only one. However, Budapest has a special place in my heart. I grew up there, my kids were born there, and it is the capitol city of romance.

For now, my kids are happy here, for some reason they do like winter (I am still confused about that), so Winnipeg is the city I call home.

New York City... I spent a bit of time there, and would move there in a heart beat, I loved the pace, and all the crazy people.

I haven't been to many places...but Pierre, South Dakota was right on!

OK ok...I loved Montreal and Vancouver was awesome when I was a kid and had visited my uncle. Australia would be cool but the 50% tax on wages is nuts...Given the choice I'd probably go to San Diego to live...I LOVE the water...it's almost always sunny and about 26c...and apparently less prone to fall in the ocean when the big one hits!

Victoria is beautiful but the cost of housing is crazy right now, I lived there for 8 years before moving here
Been to Cyprus too :-), spent almost 3 weeks there, Larnaca is nice, love the beaches at night

I'd go back to Sidney BC (just up the penisula from Victoria) in a heartbeat. Lived there for 3 years before getting transferred back here. But to give you an idea on the housing market...when I moved there in '01, you could get a 3-4 bedroom house for 180,000ish. The same house would cost you about 300,000 now. Come on 6/49!!!!!

Mother lives in Sidney by the sea, rather like Gimli I find. Love the Greek Islands - spent a lazy month there in 97; but enjoyed Venice for the differences; Lucerne in Switzerland is a beautiful clean city with great fresh mountain air; Rome for the History, Florence for the shopping and beautiful marble; would have loved to stay a week in London for theatre but Paris was the all time favorite I think. New York (Manhattan) was interesting but spent five rainy days there with bronchitis so effects were lost on me I am afraid - saw the walls surrounding site at 911 a year after it (very sobering) with the fire jackets and pictures.:

Winnipeg is not that bad place to live, even we like to complain a lot, but I think when I retire, would like to go back to Hungary for winters . At least I wouldn't have to clean the snow, and it's not as cold as here...

Athens, Greece, it has the most diverse way of living there, with history , beauiful women, friendly people, lovely beaches and greak(great) food.
If I was to ever marry , honeymoon would be there for sure.

Spiny, I was in Greece 14 years ago...and you just reminded me about those lovely beaches. Didn't pay much attention to beautiful women, noticed a few good looking guys tho... and wouldn't mind a honeymoon there myself...
