| poems that YOU wrote. Posted: 1/22/2006 10:03:19 AM | Nothing
i like to......
get down
to nothing.
have nothing - feel nothing.
for some reason it's always felt better that way.
Unable to keep things....... ..........unable to stay still;
Accumulation depreciates me.
I have no permanent place for these things;
They lay around........ ..............waiting for me to pick them up; wanting to be put away..........
Trying to find their place in me .......so that I am easily within their reach.
These few things I have;
They are my attempt at possibly nothing......
but I think,....... maybe, ............ something.

A path through the maples stops at a ledge
We stand on the edge
Looking at the specs below
Near vertical wall of snow
Don't think
Just go!

That sounds like a poem inspired by freeriding. That takes me back. Haven't been on a snowboard in ages.
|
| poems that YOU wrote. Posted: 1/22/2006 4:50:11 PM | Skiing actually... but close and like I say.."a snowboard IS a ski".
It describes the leap of guts that we often must take in many of lifes little battles.
Years ago, a friend and I were standing on the edge of the "explosion" at Wentworth for the first time (maritimes steepest MARKED ski run). This guy flew by and yelled "don't think..just GO!!" and he zigged down like nothing. So we just went for it without thinking and did pretty good. My friend fell though but it was funny.
The title "TGHIR FO YAW" is actually posted on a sign off the Station road on the other side of the valley.

| poems that YOU wrote. Posted: 1/22/2006 6:28:16 PM | Do haiku count? I know it's not 100% proper haiku but I wrote it from the heart for someone who will always be extraordinarily special to me.

| poems that YOU wrote. Posted: 1/24/2006 7:54:06 AM | I just thought I would share this one that I wrote for my daughter Amber.
Angel Wings
I held her tight Close in my arms My sweet, perfect baby. I touched her soft skin, And placed a tender kiss on her cheek. Those tiny hands, That sweet, small nose. Her hair so soft, Those little ears so perfect. Such an Angel. I held her close As tears slid from my eyes onto her still lips I could hear my heart break, As I heard her Angel Wings unfold.
