I've sent a few messages out and when I try to send new ones they say message sent. I'll check my sent messages and they don;t show up there. Have they been sent then or is there a problem and there not sent?
Thx in advance for the help.

| Sent emails not showing up in the sent box or receiving a System Message disallowing contact. Posted: 2/2/2006 1:59:17 AM | Question:
Why are my E-Mail Messages not showing up in the Sent Msg/Outbox Area?
Possible Answers:
| The user has email blocked you. |
| Do not enter any Telephone Numbers, or anything else that the Spam Filter may construe as a Telephone Number. Do not use more than 6 Numbers together such as Dates (1998-2003) even if separated by Spaces, Dashes, Periods, Parenthesis, Commas, etc. |
| Your E-Mail is too long, exceeding approx. 7,800 Characters |
| Some Messages which contain any illegal Material or Activities such as "Drugs", "Rape", "Murder", etc. may be blocked. |
| You inadvertently edited the Recipients To: Field instead of the Subject Line and fired your E-Mail/Reply off to a Non-Existent User/E-Mail Address, or to a User who had deleted his Profile. |
| You have made Reply to an existing E-Mail in your Inbox, but changed the Recipient in the To: Field of a User who has his/her Profile hidden, and does not have you on his/her Favourites List. Since Mail Settings are hidden from View, Contact Restrictions can not be determined. |
| The Mail Recipient has made certain fundamental Changes to his/her Profile such as Change of User Name or Mail Settings but has not yet out, reflecting the Update. |
| Another User has not out of their Plentyoffish Account from the same Computer using the same Browser, but you have into your Account sending E-Mails. |
| Your Browser's User Agent is concealed, corrupt or indicates the Presence of Malware, Trojan or Viral Infection. |
| A User's Profile was deleted, but not the actual User Account, resulting from massive Errors generated by a User trying to rig the Voting System utilizing automated Bots or other similar Types of Abuses. |
| That User's Profile may have been deleted. |
| There will also be unpublished filters put in place by the Admin for proprietary reasons, such as a high Percentage of E-Mail blocks or a high Contact-to-Complaint Ratio, etc. Unfortunately these are not disclosed in order to disuade circumvention.. |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 2/2/2006 9:48:04 PM | | Well I think I figured it out. If you sending an opening mesage to someone you can't cut and paste the same thing more then 3 or 4 times. I went in and changed the 4th message I sent put and it worked when prioviously it wouldn't. hope this helps some of us! | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 3/31/2006 10:44:37 AM | I've been having the same problem. I finally had success by sending first a brief test email. That DID show up in the sent message list. I was then able to get my original message through. Note: In my main message, I did use the word for female dogs (actually meaning that!); the word was partially censored by *'s by the system.
Boy, some programs are sensitive!

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 5/5/2006 7:42:40 PM | | This just happened to me too. The only thing which could possibly apply would be long messages, but it was just a page worth of text (61 lines.) It isn't silly enough to spit out a message because it contained the word Greenbank is it? The system claimed to send the message twice. It was a unique letter with an identical subject as a previous email. It never showed up in my sent mail. It would be really nice POF gave some indication if the message really wasn't sent. It would also be good to know what the length limits are. The system shouldn't accept a long email and just throw it out. Those take a lot of work 8o(... | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 5/6/2006 11:38:20 PM | I have no idea what kind of weird message content restrictions the system has but eventually I realized: 1. If the message you just sent doesn't show up in Sent Msg, even if the system says "Message Sent" it wasn't really sent (Try sending the same message to yourself, you won't get it.) 2. If a message doesn't show up in Sent Msg, and the reason isn't obvious, send it to yourself, each time trimming out paragraphs until you get something that will send. Once you have something the system is happy with send it to your contact. | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 10/13/2006 3:33:41 PM | I tried sending 2 messages just now
Both said "message sent". Neither shows up in my sent message box.
The 1st was a reply, to a person who just messaged me. There is no indicator beside this message in my inbox that I've replied to it.
The other I'd contacted by clicking onm her profile. It said "message sent" but doesn't show up in my sent messages. This is not a new contact to me. Has no restrictions replying to me, and wouldn't have blocked me.

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 10/13/2006 10:43:44 PM | E-Mail Messages not showing up in the Sent Msg/Outbox Area?
| More than (4) Four Duplicate E-Mails sent per Day. |
| More than (40) Forty new Contacts e-mailed per Day. |
| Your E-Mail is too long, exceeding approx. 7,800 Characters |
| Do not send HTML Links, Java Code, E-Mail Addresses or Telephone Numbers, or anything else that the Spam Filter may construe as a Telephone Number. |
| You, or the intended E-Mail Recipient, or both have a missing or incorrect Postal Code Profile Entry, esp. a "75 Mile" Contact Restriction Limit in either's Mail Settings. |
| You inadvertently edited the Recipients To: Field instead of the Subject: Line and fired your E-Mail/Reply off to a Non-Existent User/E-Mail Address. (User/Execution Error.) |
| You have made Reply to an existing E-Mail in your Inbox, but changed the Recipient in the To: Field of a User who has his/her Profile hidden, and does not have you on his/her Favourites List. Since Mail Settings are hidden from View, Contact Restrictions can not be determined. |

| A User's Profile was deleted, but not the actual User Account, resulting from massive Errors generated by a User trying to rig the Voting System utilizing automated Bots or other similar Types of Abuses. |
| That User's Profile may have been deleted. |
| It is also possible there may yet be other Filters in Place the Admin never made mention of, such as a high Percentage of E-Mail blocks and Contact-to-Complaint Ratios, etc. |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 11/19/2006 12:11:47 PM | | I am having this very same difficulty! None of tickettoride's suggestions seem to be applicable here. I have sent messages to users that have none of the mail or contact restrictions that would apply to me, they are new messages, NOT cut and paste style, to previously uncontacted users, so, they wouldn't have blocked me either. Why DOES the system say "message sent" and NOT show up in the sent message folder? None of the answers here seem to be working for me. And that includes frequency of and length of attempted sent messages... please advise! | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 11/26/2006 4:34:17 PM | This has been driving me crazy! I'm beginning to think it's just Divine Intervention preventing me from contacting the wrong men.
Or maybe the right ones... (Even the sad smiley just showed up as happy. Perhaps I should be on some other site? lol)
Anyway, if it was because you're blocked or don't meet the criteria, surely you receive a message telling you? I just get a big MESSAGE SENT! message but no sign of what I sent shows up anywhere, so I assume it hasn't gone anywhere at all. I don't copy, or send lots of messages, or use the forbidden symbols (ooh, a bit Da Vinci Code innit?!) so I don't know.
I'm trying not to take it personally.

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 11/29/2006 10:21:47 PM | | The issue seem to continue. I can not imagine that any of the criteria listed above for excluding messages applied to the messages I have sent. It would be very helpful if the filter displayed a warning about why a message got rejected. | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 11/30/2006 11:07:25 AM | I think the weirdest thing is when you get a triumphant MESSAGE SENT message over the top of a list of sent messages which patently doesn't include the one you just sent!
Maybe it's all for the best...????? ;)

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 12/12/2006 8:54:36 PM | I had one disappear from my sent folder today as well.
It was actually in the sent folder this morning, unread.
This afternoon, gone.
Recipient had no contact restrictions and the profile was not hidden.
Moot point because this evening they deleted their profile, but I'm curious.
An 'unread' message IN my 'sent' literally disappeared.
None of Ticket's points are applicable.
Any ideas? | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 12/13/2006 1:32:13 PM | Ok, so I spent too much time today sending emails that didn't go through. I've read the advice given here and would like to offer what just happened. I have tried to include my pic with the original emails. When I didn't include it, they all went through. I just have to see if I can now send it separately. Wish me luck! The pic is not offensive by the way. | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 12/19/2006 5:08:36 AM | | I also have been having the problem of emails not showing up in the sent folder. NONE of the reasons listed in the above threads can provide an explanation as to why this is happening. I was able to send an email to myself... but none to any one else. At this point, I am quite certain that there is a problem with the POF system rather than any user error. Totally annoying... | |

| Sending messages but not showing up in the sent message area Posted: 12/19/2006 11:06:04 PM | | the same thing sasquatch described happened to me as well. i sent a message, it appeared in my sent messages folder, where it remained unread for a while... then, next time i noticed it was simply gone. does this mean the message was never received? if the receipient deleted the message (whether before or after reading it) should it not still appear in my sent messages folder? does a moderator / anyone have an explanation... please? thanks and merry xmas! | |
